Q: Would this lighten medium blonde hair to look platinum? It's for a costume.

It will take the brassiness out and make it look lighter. I am not sure if it will look as light as platinum. If your hair has a more ash tint to it, it may look more silvery. I hope that helps.

Q: I have white and dark brown hair ... what will the white minx temporary color do color-wise?

This product is great for getting rid of the yellow in white hair which is my case....don't know the effect in dark brown hair

Q: What's the difference between the temporary hair color and the rinse?

Not sure what temporary hair rinse you are talking about, but this Fanciful is temporary, it only comes in a few basic colors, is easy on the hair, and rinses out after a few washes. I use it on my horses' manes and tails. My mother used this on her hair years ago.

Q: Will this thoroughly cover dark hair?

No. It blends my light brown into the darker grey and keeps yellow out of the white hair at my crown. It will tone but not really cover darker hair.
