Will a 500lb motorcycle be okay at 8inch high threshold?

Should be okay if you're just walking the m/c up and down on it. Not sure if you hit it at high speed.

How big are the "hooks" that hook on to the curb or whatever you're going up? Hoping it will hook onto a 4 x 4 going up to a dog door?

There are "No" hooks. This curb ramp "Rests" on top of your 4x4. You could screw it into a 4x4, to keep it attached?
