🌟 Conquer Dune, Control Destiny!
Gale Force Nine's Dune is a captivating board game that immerses players in the legendary science fiction universe. Designed for 2 to 4 players aged 12 and up, it offers a dynamic playtime of 30 to 60 minutes, where players can take on the roles of powerful factions, strategizing to harvest spice and dominate the battlefield.

Get it but realize it’s not the full dune imperium game
I didn’t realize this is a lite version of dune imperium. It’s still really good and actually easier to play then the original but I gave it 4 stars just because that was not clear to me when I got it. I thought it was just more of a reskin then a modified version.

A faster paced version of the classic Dune board game.
I am a big fan of the Dune board game published in 1979 by Avalon Hills, which was reissued in 2019 by Gale Force Nine. It is one of those games that you definitely have to set aside an entire afternoon to properly play, which makes it a difficult game to actually convince people to play. This 2021 version, which is a tie in with Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel, is a much more stripped-down version. Many of the mechanics from the original game are present in this version, but there are some changes to make the game more streamline and easily accessible to people who aren't quite into board games as hardcore fans are.Because the game plays over a maximum of 5 rounds, this version of Dune goes by much faster. I've played entire games in under an hour. It doesn't compare to the complex and vastly more strategic original game, but it is a quick and fun game to get people to the table with. While I enjoy the classic Dune board game more, I feel this one will probably see more gameplay because of how quick and easy it is to play.

Mini Dune
Really fun version of Dune that gives it a faster pace. If what you like most about the other Dunes is bartering with each other this version doesn’t have that built into it, although you could just do it anyway. It has crazy tense moments when seeing who outsmarted who in battles. Overall it’s very fun.

Short and to the point
Having played this version and the remake of the 70s Dune, this plays very quick with drastically simpler rules. A good appetizer game when you don't have alot of time, or a sample if you would like the more complex version

Amazing for what it is
A lot of people like to poop on this version of Dune but if the OG 2019 “reprint” is too much for you, this is an amazing alternative. It packs a lot of the same stuff in about an hour. Keep in mind naturally it makes the game less deep strategically but that’s a fair trade imo

Good board game for strategy/sci fi fans
Box was a bit dinged up, but nothing major. Game is quite fun. I've played it about 8 times now with different groups of friends and they all seem to have fun. Not for ultra casual gamers though. It has a bit of a learning curve, but is much more well balanced late game than alternatives like Catan. The different factions also help keep things interesting!

Great game, terrible packaging
Great game, but terrible packaging. Literally just wrapped it up with no protection and came damaged as you can see from pictures. Advise not to purchase from this seller unless you want to gamble with shipment. This is why you bubble wrap and put a box inside a box.

Really well balanced fun area control game.
First of all I think the bad reviews of this game are from individuals who were expecting this remake to be a duplicate of the original dune game made in the 70’s. Thank goodness this game is not. The old game was torture to play and took forever. I love how streamlined and balanced this game actually is. You can setup and play in about 40 minutes with four players and the factions are equally balanced. I love the battle mechanics of this game. Very unique and the traitor aspect makes this game incredibly fun. There are some positive reviews out on YouTube I recommend you watch those to find out if this game is for you. My teenage kids and I played this all through the holidays and had a good time playing it.

He who controls the Spice, controls the board game.
Dune: A Game of Conquest and Diplomacy, is the most recent iteration of a long running Dune board game that has been revamped to tie in with the latest movie adaptation by Denis Villeneuve. In this edition you will see the faces of the actors that portray the characters on their respective tokens and cards. As the movie only deals with the first third of the first novel, any characters in the game that are not in the first movie, such as the Emperor, are not represented by an actor's face. No spoilers in this box.And speaking of the box; its quality along with the quality of all the playing pieces, the board, cards etc, is very good. Everything feels well made and robust, the card decks in particular having a nice textured finish to them. There are no plastic pieces as with previous editions however, no miniature mountain ranges to add depth to the play area, no plastic tokens. Everything is thick, high quality cardboard, or laminated card, except for the solitary eight sided die used to control the flow of Arrakis' perpetual sand storms. The game is designed for 2 to 4 players, with four being the optimum in my experience. You may play as one of four factions; the Imperium, Harkonen, Atreides and of course, The Fremem. In the interests of balance for two player games there are faction cards set up detailing alliances, whereby one player controls the Imperium and House Harkonen, while the other player takes charge of an alliance between the Fremen and House Atreides.Gameplay itself is very enjoyable, if you're a fan of strategic games that also have an element of chance. You may be doing well, but keep an eye on that sand storm, you don't want to get caught in that. Each House requires it's own tactics in order to be most effective. In brief:The Fremem seem to be the easiest faction to pick up and play, having a strong advantage with their free reinforcements each turn (it's their planet after all), sand storms don't hinder them as much, and then there's Shai-Hulud.....The Imperium is rich, and can easily grow richer off of the other players, as you might expect. The Emperor's wealth combined with the power of the Bene Gesserit witches under his control creates a force to be reckoned with. The Harkonens bring betrayal to the table, with their ability to plant traitors amongst their enemies, but this is not the easy option. Pick carefully.House Atreides with its powerful leaders, wields insights into the battle tactics of others, but in keeping with the novels; the Atreides may struggle to endure against the Imperium.Having been initially released in its first edition back in 1979, Dune is a boardgame that has truly stood the test of time and it's easy to see why. This is a game that will really benefit from multiple plays.

A fun refresh of a classic boardgame
I used to play the original version of this 20+ years ago. I remember it being great fun, but took AGES to complete. This modern edition has been tuned to make it very fast, and very dramatic. The game ends in 5 turns so nobody can afford to wait about. All players have to act quickly and aggressively and the game reaches a conclusion very quickly - you will be done in 45-60 minutes. The board, counters and cards are pretty good quality and they feel like they will last well. I like how the character portraits and other art have been refreshed to match the 2021 movie. The rules are clear and easy to explain but there is a surprising amount of subtlety to the game and you really have to think strategically to win. The battle wheel mechanic used to resolve conflicts (there will be many!) is fun and creative, and really makes you think. Each of the factions has different attributes which result in a very different feel during in play. I did not try the expansion factions yet.All in all, a great reworking of a classic game - it has lost some of the epic feeling of the previous version, but has changed to a very fast paced, very dramatic game.Recommended

Fun !
Game is great fun for fans of the latest film that came out. Don’t have the original Dune game from the 80’s to compare it to. Overall, fun exciting and captures the essence of the Dune cinematic experience.
