What a fantastic find!
What a fantastic find!! I do hot yoga--like REALLY hot and sweaty Vinyasa classes where I typically am pouring with sweat 10 minutes into the class. I actually have been known to wring out my towels after classes because they are soaked through and through. I have a dozen or so of the more expensive Manduka Equa towels and Equa plus towels. I also have yogitoes, although, I don't feel like they grip as well to my Manduka Pro mat. I was VERY skeptical as this towel is under $15 but because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the money-back guarantee, I thought I would give it a shot. I'm so glad that I did! What a fantastic yoga towel! It soaks up an ABSURD amount of sweat and stays grippy throughout my very physical practice. The towel does not bunch up by my hands and feet at all. I also love how soft the towel is. It's very comfortable and cushy, but does not effect balance. I did notice that it shrinks when laundered, but so does every other towel on the market. SUPERB! I did not get any sort of discount or gift as many reviewers did--I paid the full asking price on Amazon. Still incredibly worth it--so much so, in fact, that I just had to post a review. If you are a yogi who sweats buckets, this is the towel for you!

User error possible
I initially bought one towel to try and absolutely loved it! I dampened my mat before laying the towel down as the instructions suggest and it stays in place extremely well. It is nice to have a towel over the mat during the bikram (hot) yoga sessions, as by the time we get to positions like dog down, my hands, feet and well, just about everything else is dripping in sweat. The towel keeps me from sliding all over my mat. Being able to wash the towel after each session seems much more sanitary than wiping down my mat with chemicals to clean. After trying it for several classes I loved it so much that I ordered more for me and one for a friend. Initially he had issues with the towel moving on him during the class, but we discovered that because he has a lot of calluses on his feet the microfiber material was sticking to the bottom of this feet and causing the towel to bunch - the solution was for him to pick up his feet slightly higher and slower before changing positions and he also started dampening the mat more than I do before laying down his towel and no he has no/little issues with the towel slipping during the class Overall they seem like they are good quality, and a good price in comparison to other yoga towels on the market.

A very good towel for the money.
In all honesty, I ordered the gray towel with green stitching and got the blue towel. That's annoying but I don't really care. I'm assuming that all the towels function identically regardless of their color. This towel is a pretty standard microfiber cloth that has been cut into the dimensions of a yoga mat (although my Manduka Black mat is slightly wider). If you've ever used microfiber rags to wash a car or do general cleaning then you know what to expect. There's nothing wrong with that but it's not exactly groundbreaking stuff. I've added the Youphoria to my stable of towels which include the Manduka, Gaiam, and YogaRat brands. I've used Yogitoes before, as well. The Mandukas are the best. This towel will never be mistaken for a Manduka and anyone who thinks so probably doesn't really need a towel. Of course, the Mandukas are much more expensive so this isn't surprising. This towel needs to be compared to Gaiam and Yogarat. Compared to those two it is an excellent towel. It's pretty comfortable to lay on if you open class with a savasana. It's a lightweight towel so I expected it to slide around a lot even when saturated with sweat. However, it stays in place pretty well throughout class. Most hot yoga classes start with standing postures before moving to the floor so the towel is soaked by the time you really test its grip-strength. Speaking of being soaked, this towel absorbs a surprising amount of sweat. It doesn't overflow with sweat like Gaiam and Yogarat (really, the Yogarat Mat Towel is terrible - the hand towels are nice, though). With those two when I roll up my mat/towel to exit the studio my sweat is pouring out - and no, I'm not rolling my mat too tightly. The Youphoria towel held on to the sweat so I didn't leave a trail of puddles in my wake. Very cool. All in all, this towel is better than its similarly-priced competitors. I'd tell a friend to buy one. If you are wanting to try a proper yoga towel this is a good place to start. I'm giving it four stars because it just doesn't feel like a 5-star product. It's a very good product for the money and I'm pleased to own it but it doesn't move me to think "Great". I suspect it's because an old roommate of mine always had these cheap microfiber dishrags in the kitchen and it reminds me of those.

I sweat a lot (understatement), and slip easy - this solved it
So, I'm first to admit I'm a disgusting sweaty mess when I exercise or work out. No hiding it. I'm the worst of anyone I know, by far. You don't even understand, man. Doesn't matter how little effort I exert, I start sweating pretty quickly (thankfully I don't have bad BO - I swear!). Needless to say the whole Bikram/Heated Yoga thing makes it 10x worse, and as such was a TERRIBLE experience for me the first time. I went prepared with a $20 mat I purchased from a random convenience store and a small face towel, and I literally had water *streaming* off of my shirt onto my mat for most of the class. I've never seen sweat hold a constant stream... like, what the hell? NOT FAIR My entire mat was engulfed in a puddle that was encroaching on my neighbor's space (oops), and I couldn't so much as plant my feet at 30' angle without slipping. Pretty embarrassing, and disgusting, and sad. The paper towels laughed at me, and were futile. Sure, everyone in a class like that class sweats a good amount, but I seriously sweat more than the next 6-7 people (AT LEAST) combined. I would've liked to pretend that this all never happened, and that I could honestly swear I would never step foot in another heated class again, but I had 9 classes remaining on my deal and actually enjoyed the class otherwise. Further, is all of the 'advanced' classes were heated, and that was what I liked the most. So, after a fair amount of amazon searching and reading, I decided on this purchase - and it is a WORLD of difference. This mat handled the deluge of sweat from a class, and kept the mat underneath it in reasonable shape. No puddles on the mat or the floor; just some minor moisture. Further, is it never got slippery, at all. If anything my grip got better as it got wetter, somehow (though it does recommend some moisture for best results). But seriously, I can't even fathom how this thing absorbed 95% of the sweat. I rang it out after the class, and out flooded enough water on the pavement to fill a bucket. The puddle was like the circumference of a mini-cooper. I'm not joking around when I say I sweat a lot. It was disgusting, but hey, no one knew about it but me this time! The thing had to of had around 10lbs of water in it. Ok, so, don't mean to gross everyone out but I just wanted to emphasize how awesome a job this towel did. I fully recommend it. Oh, and it fit my mat perfectly, and didn't move or have to get readjusted much at all. Feels nice too. Customer service is also excellent and very personal. Though, honestly everything else could've been terrible and I still would've been super happy to not have to worry about slipping, falling, and splashing the entire class with the puddle I land in. Great product.

Great for Hot Yoga!
First of all, I am newer to hot yoga. So, experts may have a different opinion but I LOVE these towels! I purchased my first one after several weeks of slipping and sliding through my hot yoga sessions. Even as a female, I sweat like a beast and there is nothing I can do about it except look forward to showering after each session. Frustrated with how difficult it was to maintain even the most simple of positions (like downward dog), I took to Amazon for a solution and found these wonderful towels. As other reviews have noted, you really need to spray your towel down, prior to use. The place I go for yoga has spray bottles readily available for this purpose. So, if yours does not, I recommend also getting a small spray bottle to take with you to each session. If you don't, the material WILL slip. Trust me, I have tried it both ways. However, once it has been prepped, the towels work great to prevent slipping. They are also very nice material. I enjoyed my purchase so much that, after buying the first towel, I went back and bought another color. :)

No slipping, but doesn't stay in place
So I bought this towel for my hot yoga classes. I used it for the first time last night for a hot flow class. Downfalls: I was a little disappointed because it did not stay in place on the mat as well as I had hoped for. I was constantly pulling it and trying to put it back in place which was a bit of a distraction during class. Also, the towel seemed a little bit thick. I think this may have been the issue because my foot kept getting caught on the mat as it would wrinkle changing postures. Another thing I noticed was that about 60 min into class the towel started to have a bit of a rubbery smell. At first I thought the smell was me or my neighbor, but by the end I could tell it was the towel. The smell wasn't terrible, but I just wasn't sure why that was happening. Upsides: On the plus side, I did not slip one bit on the towel. The class was 75min in 90 degrees so I was pouring sweat and there was no slipping. The towel also seemed to absorb moisture well so I did not feel I was in a puddle of my own sweat (eww). The towel is also extremely soft and comfortable to lay and stand on. Overall, I will not be buying another one. I would like to get one that will stay in place a bit better for vinyasa and flow type classes. If you practice yoga where you are not moving through vignorous postures I would say this towel would be a great for you. I do feel like it is one of the better yoga towels out there. I have had some experience with various yoga towels and this one is excellent quality, but just isn't a great fit for my practice.

Great Towel
I did Bikram for almost a year, and this towel was a life saver. I was using a beach towel for a couple of weeks, and I sweat like a pig, so I was slipping and sliding all over the place. Once I got this towel most of my issues were resolved, there was no longer a puddle around me slowly lurking towards my neighbor, and I could comfortably make it through the class. The only complaint I had was that it didn't always want to lay flat on the edges sometimes, however, it wasn't often. I now keep the towel in my car to put over my seat after a workout, as I noticed that I would soak the seat, especially after a session in the dry sauna. I would go home, shower, and then drive to work, only to find out my clothes were now damp from sitting on the seat. This has saved me expensive interior details to steam clean the seats to get the salt marks off the seat, as well as kept the seat dry after my morning workouts. I have had it now for over a year, it still looks brand new, even after being washed and dried frequently. This was a great purchase.

Great towel
I go to hot yoga almost every day, this towel is perfect for it. I place it over my mat and it helps prevent me from sliding all over the place, it also absorbs all the sweat and water which is great because it keeps my actual yoga mat clean. I wash it and itโs ready for the next use. I highly recommend.
