We purchase excellent, unique, vibrant coffees that tell a story. It is important to us that everyone involved in the production of the coffee, right down to the land itself, will benefit from the production and sale of that coffee. When we receive a sample of raw coffee, we visually analyze it for defects, and then roast a small sample. We then cup (taste) that sample, scoring the coffee and analyzing the flavor notes.

Probably the best espresso coffee I've had
Probably the best espresso coffee I've had, and most expensive. But if you have an espresso maker this is worth it. I've used it for pour-over and in a Breville espresso machine. The pour over doesn't preserve the flavor as much as the machine. This is very rich in flavor and is not bitter but very very smooth.

Typically great coffee, but I got old beans.
Love Metropolis coffee and their café on West Granville in Chicago, but I live in Los Angeles, so I decided to order one of my favorite espressos from one of my favorite roasters.The order was fulfilled by Techa Distribution and I was very disappointed to find that the espresso was roasted 43 days ago.Saying, in the product description, that the coffee is "roasted to order" is completely misleading. It's not roasted to YOUR order. It's roasted when the company that is shipping it to you orders it.43 days from roasting to my cup is unacceptable. I would have never ordered this if I knew how old the beans would be when I received them.Yes, I'm picky about my coffee, but that's why I ordered Metropolis Redline. It's fantastic coffee, but not the batch that I received.I will not be ordering Metropolis again.

This was my very first experience buying coffee online. And I am more than satisfied! The coffee I ordered tastes and smells delicious. It's exactly what I was looking for for a long time. From now Metropolis Redline is my No 1 flavor!Highly recommended!

Finally Metropolis on FBA!
These coffee beans arrived and were roasted 10 days before arriving which is good since they are available on fba! I had the coffee previously, and decided to order them to make my espresso at home!

Way Better Than Starbucks!!!
In July of 2021 I visited my son in Chicago. I happened across Metropolis Coffee around the corner from him and discovered the best coffee I've ever had (and I'm typically a Starbucks gal)! My son had never been there and when I took him there, he became a fan as well. Since I don't live in Chicago, I started ordering their beans online for my home coffeemaker and have continued to do so. My son has now made them his coffee bean source as well. My favorite is Decaf Redline, and my son agrees. It's absolutely amazing!Recently, I accidentally ordered caffeinated beans instead of decaf (I can't have caffeine due to health reasons). I notified Metropolis of my mistake and they were great! They are sending me a decaf replacement, and are not requiring me to mail the caffeinated coffee back. I can't say enough about how great this company is. If you haven't tried it yet, you should!
