Great subwoofer for a good price!
UPDATE: AFTER 2 WEEKS I TOOK THE SUB OUT TO PUT IN MY NEW ALPINE TYPE R, AND THE PLANET AUDIO SUB WAS A LITTLE STINKY...I THINK MAYBE 600-650 RMS MIGHT BE A LIIIITTLE TOO MUCH FOR THIS SUBWOOFER. STILL SOUNDS AWESOME AND POUNDS, BUT I WOULD SAY 500 OR SO RMS POWER IS ABOUT MAX FOR THIS SUB. I did a lot of research on subwoofers in the past month because I wanted to add a new Amp and Subwoofer to my car. My old system was 20 years old. I decided to purchase the Rockford Fosgate R500x1D Amp. Now I wanted a 'cheaper' sub to use @ 2 ohms, because the existing subwoofer I had was a single voice coil 4 ohm. So this Planet Audio AC10D was a nice $30 choice. This rockford amp is rated around 650 RMS watts @ 2 ohms...and this subwoofer pounds! I must have the volume and gain set on the amp perfect for this sub, so it's getting probably around 600 watts (also verified with voltage and impedance tests at the speaker leads)...I'm telling you this sub gets low and rumbles my whole body and the whole car! I've got it in a shallow sealed 'truck style angled box' about .5 cu/ft. Very very impressed for $30, definitely worth it! If anyone wants bass on a budget, that amp is around $135 and this sub is 30 bucks...so for a $165, I am blown away by how cheap you can get Awesome sound out of a single 10" subwoofer paired with a decent amp!! After this purchase, I am a Planet Audio fan for life.

Budget bass
Good sound and hits decently hard for the price. I have 2 10" audio planet subs in a customer box. Bought about 2 years ago. I have been pushing them to thier max the whole time after break in time. Got hot a time or 2 but still rockin. Awsome subs for a guy on a budget!!!

Awesome subs after break in!
So far so good. Build quality is good as usual. Sound is good but haven’t finished break-in period to really crank it. If you buy this subwoofer, you have to break it in at low volumes like any subwoofer for 6-8 hours or you will blow it! The next 4-8 hours you need to break it in at medium volumes. After that, crank it up! It WILL hold its RMS rating! Breaking in ANY new speaker is an important step! Some brands do it for you, this one does not! It is important to slowly heat the voice coils up. Electric current needs to run the new coils which lightly heats them and gets them to set and sit properly. Those coils are wound up tight and glued in place. If you start running heavy currents (high volumes) through unset coils, they come apart and your speaker is blown. These planet subs do not blow at RMS levels. If you blew it, it’s bcz you didn’t break it in! Update: couple of months in, break in completed a long time ago. The bass is extreme. Way overpowering. Excellent subwoofer! Pushing 50w over RMS with no issues

Decent sub at price point
For starters , If you try to run 1500 watts continuously to this sub, it’s going to fry. It’s 2021, all amps and subs are overrated. I don’t know why, but that’s just the way it is. With that said , I’m running around 600 watts continuous to one of these and it does very well for what it is. A cheap, 10 inch subwoofer. Be patient and break it in properly. After broken in, it performs really well. I have it wired to 2Ohms paired with a Jensen amp and it sounds good. Tuned around 50hz , with the gain set at just under 50%. Performs better on low and midrange notes

Blows up after 10 days mild use.
I had a shop install the sub with the amplifier that was matched for it and in 9.5 days it was done. Now I can't find my receipt so I don't know what to do with it besides just eat it. I can say that the sound was very deep and very clear. I imagine it just can't handle the power rating advertised, or even half that much. If you put maybe 300 clean watts of MOSFET power to it you will get a decent sound. I used the planet audio 1500 watt monoblock amplifier model #AC1500.1M and after the break in period of 20 hours low level volume, I turned the amp up to 25% and it sounded fine. After another couple days I powered it up to approx 50% power with no bass boost, head unit settings all at default, nor any audio boosting apps, as it was clear digital music, and a half hour into the ride it was making such weird grinding noises I was afraid it might catch fire. So, I removed the speaker, inspected for damage, odd smells, anything, tested the amp with a 12" 1400 watt subwoofer and it was fine. And nothing. The tech at the shop said it was a faulty voice coil and that I should have picked a different company if I wanted a 15" sub that was worth the time. That being said, the experience wasn't without it perks. The delivery speed was fine by me, although it was several days late, I was informed of the speakers location and Amazon went above and beyond keeping me informed of why and what and where so on and so forth. So good job Amazon. Now, imma send the speaker back, let's see how it gets remedied. Hopefully the sales ticket from Amazon will suffice for replacing this item. Maybe it was just a bad factory install or faulty materials, I cannot say. And that happens. But let's just wait and see what planet audio does as far as honoring their product warranty. I can appreciate their amps as the one I purchased is very good. I would buy again, and if this is remedied appropriately then they will retain me as a customer for many years to come. If not, well I seek another brand. Bad speaker-good amp-Amazon right on target and very thorough.

Nice 10”s so far
These speakers paired with a plant audio AC1200.2 amp sound amazing. For the price these subs are a steal. Currently running 2 10” subs in bridged mode running parallel. Can’t speak if they are going to last, but so far after the break in period these speakers punch. Speakers are mounted in a Harmon Kamron dual 10’box located in the spare tire well of my challenger. Very happy with my purchase so far. I will update if anything changes.

Great little subwoofer.
I have not run this unit under a load yet, but I am really impressed with the build quality of the little sub. Once I have everything connected, I will post a follow-up to this initial review. EDIT 3/11/16: So I had this in my car, and it sounded great, I just didn't know that I needed more bass than an 8" can reasonably provide. However, I am still using it in a homemade soundbase tube for my second PC, and just...woooow! Great power handling, great excursion, great bass for indoor purposes...I'm just really surprised by this little subwoofer's performance. This isn't the first Planet Audio component I've ever purchased, and it darn sure won't be my last. The $30 I paid for this kind of quality really has me curious enough to pay for the Big Bang series from Planet Audio. If you are making custom door enclosures for a component system, then this would be fantastic for a mid; it is not going to give enough boom by itself to fill an entire passenger cabin in a 4-door vehicle or SUV though. In a small sealed eclosure, it might be enough for a small 2-door coupe; depending on where you are able to mount the enclosure. All said, I would definitely buy this unit in particular, and pretty much any Planet Audio component now that I have experienced their quality. (I am not being compensated for writing that, either.)

It isnt terrible....
I bought this because it was cheap and honestly I was pretty impressed. I bought the PA 1500w amp to power it. First off this thing couldn't handle 1200 watts on its best day. And the amp wasn't pushing 1500 watts so it was fine. I had the amp cranked all the way up with the sub in a ported box to PA specs and it sounded really good. It didn't sound as good as a $100 8" sub but it sounded great for the money. BUT then I burned it up. I decided to try my old kicker zr600 amp (factory spec'd at 740 watts) and with the amp turned up 1/4 of the way up it sounded AWESOME for about 3 minutes then it cooked. You want cheap decent sound? It isn't bad at all. Just don't push the limits. I have had the sub for 2+ years and it has held up fine till I tried actually giving it a couple hundred real watts. I wouldn't buy it again but I'm not disappointed in the purchase either.

Excelente producto calidad/precio

Replaced my blown sub from a different brand with this 10” into a box I made, hits well and seems to be good quality! Will update if anything happens to it in the long run!
