Informative
Good book to hear some of the things about combat that you didn’t know, especially about bombing

So very interesting!
The way this book is written in first person accounts - their stories transport you back in time; history takes on a whole new meaning.

So far wondeful!!
I had heard about this series of books almost a year ago and said I would get them one day. Well, I received some birthday money and immediately ordered this book. I have just started reading it and am extremely pleased with it. At 833 pages, it is a little hard to hold;d but it is well worth it.

Interesting Reading
While my husband likes to know about military history, he's not much of a reader. I bought this for him for Xmas and he is enjoying it very much. The size of the chapters are just right, you can finish one or two and then stop. It's easy to pick it up where you left off the next day. The descriptions are intriguing and pull you into the story and sequence of events. A good read on a snowy day. (I have also begun to read it and we are both looking forward to Vol 4 - 6.)

the greatest generation in their own personal stories
The personal stories were very interesting. I am a Vietnam veteran I would like to have something on this scale for others to read.
