When using this for parking mode does the camera know the engine is switched off and activate parking mode or does it constantly stay on?

It will activate parking mode after the set time in the cameras settings, mine activates 10 mins after switching off the ignition.

Does this work on a Tesla Model S ?

All vehicles now have to have a standard 'on board diagnostic port' (OBD) and most modern vehicles have the OBD II port. Check your vehicle manual and if there is an OBD II, then it will click straight in!
