So far so good. The packaging is robust but getting into it could present challenging for those with reduced fine motor skills. From the research I've done, it's necessary to periodicalky maintain outdoor locks from the elements with a proprietary oil. As the Squire is a well established company I expect the lock to be durable. It feels quite heavy in weight and easy to open and close. I am very happy with my purchase.

This padlock by Squire is the absolute real deal.No messing about in sturdiness.They are a good solid weight - and the keys fit the lock,which isn't always the case.When I need more locks, Squire will be getting my custom.

The lock looks very well made from the outside with toughened hasp and solid appearance. However the tumblers in the lock felt very rough when operating the key and didn't get any better with use. I oiled it frequently and a rusty residue seeped out. Recently the hasp became very rough to operate and now the standing part of the hasp has extended from the body much too far and is inoperable, so something inside must have failed. It lasted just short of two years and I think a 'quality' brand should do better (or am I expecting too much?).

Bought this lock for the fun of picking and yes with a hook pick and 1 minute, job done.About the lock, yes great for a solid body to lock to, maybe not a Shen as the physical lock is a good size to hold and pull / twist off.Comes with 2 keys, metal with a plastic top to attach to ring etc.All in all may not secure enough for the size. If you want a chunky lock this is it but security not the best.

This is the best padlock I've bought.Have bought many padlocks in the past, some far more expensive than this & every one has suffered from rust or the release mechanism seizing up.This padlock is excellent, it's been outside all through winter in all weathers & still looks brand new - the mechanism is super smooth with a positive click for lock & unlock.

Very sturdy lock bought to replace an identical one which rusted and seized after 5 years.

Had to change out after approx 10 weeks in use after it showed a lot of rust and was becoming difficult to get key into lock and to open. Not suitable for outdoor use in a coastal area.
