so I recently purchased the pedal commander to see if the thing actually worked and it did. I came across this and installed it and I had to return the pedal commander because for 50 bucks instead of 300 is a better deal... they both do the same . no it doesn't make your car go faster or give you more hp! it opens up your throttle more so when you push down your pedal slightly your car will move quicker. basically respond better no lag. this was a better purchase and especially for the money. So at first I had written a 5 star review for it, but now I’m going to have to change it to 1 stars. This is because the pedal commander on my Camry Hybrid caused a “Check Hybrid system” warning which killed power on my car mid drive. I could only coast and steer to a stop. When I stop and restart my car though it all goes back to normal and I can drive away. But this same thing occurred about 5 more times just randomly in the middle of the road while I’m driving, two of which were in the middle of a busy intersection! So I took it to Toyota to check out the “check hybrid system” warning and see what was wrong. Well, they traced the problem back to the hybrid throttle system which was being effected and altered by the pedal commander, causing it to go in failsafe mode and shut down. Needless to say I removed it and it now lives in the garbage can, so that was a waste of money plus the $150 bill I had to pay to get my hybrid system diagnosed at Toyota. This should really be a zero star because of the dangerous situation it put me and my car in, but the product was good when it worked so I guess it’ll get a star for that.

Caused a check engine light a month after installing, would throw car into limp mode

New Review (updated):I decided to give it another try before returning it, i realized the first time for some reason the cable didn’t click in and this time it did, waited 20 min for it to be completely off then connected it and now it works. I tap the gas pedal a tiny bit in 3.9 mode and this thing moves fast, is very much worth the $68 just make sure to be really careful installing it cause Lexus’s are sensitive with all the sensors and stuffOld review: Gave me Check Engine and secondary collision lights. My car is new 2022 i was worried i had to take it to dealer. Pressed normal mode and rpm’s shot up to 3000 all of a sudden. All problems went away as soon as i removed it, not worth the $68.

I live the instant throttle control. It was very annoying and sometimes I felt hazardous trying to merge onto the hwy and it be slow to gain speed. In town, I won't lie, I dart around a bit, but my 4rnr makes it difficult to "get up and go" with the manufacturer setup. This device is the most affordable throttle controller I have found. Honestly it works just like my pedal commanders did in my other vehicles. (Another brand if not familiar) This will not void warranty using this device. If you are still worried, it's super super easy to unplug and replug... You won't be disappointed with this purchase!
