Solid, sturdy, sharp - I bought no fewer than three sets around this price level that were flimsy, weak & broken within days, before I noticed this item on Amazon, saw it is British, so I decided to give it a go. I'm very glad I did so: it's of an entirely superior type. You can tell this at once, from the weight of the box, before one even opens it up - a pleasing and auspicious , appropriate, heaviness which is down to the solid metal construction. No half measures, there's even a sliding tray to collect the parings so bits of toenail don't end up all over the place. Every part is substantial: every action is smooth and reliable. I'm extremely glad to have discovered this item, as my toenails have, with age, become gnarled and brittle talons that are near-impossible to cut .. these clippers have tamed the ugly brutes thank goodness! And there's even a soft velvety pouch for safekeeping of the smaller clippers, so they may be readily found in the depths of the abyss that is my capacious old-battleaxe's handbag! And 2023 - four years and a house move later, they're still going strong. The little pair in my bag, the big one in the pocket of my recliner. I liked them so much I bought the toenail clippers of the same brand which also come in a lovely sturdy card box. I won't traumatise you with descriptions of my toe-talons..... 🤣
