Great book but not to be just gifted. Being discrete in relaying information to the child.
The book has a lot of things for parents/ caregiver to assist the boy child in the family to guide through. But it's not a book which you can give to a 12 or a 14 year old to read and understand. There is a lot of information which an adult needs to assist a child to understand. Remember age doesn't define the stage of development a child is in, this is something one needs to assess themselves. This book's information can be shared at different points of development.

Really helpful book for families with boys who are going through puberty.
Really helpful for me to prepare for my son going through puberty! It just hit me that he's seven and I could not remember when puberty for boys starts or what it even entails!! The diagrams were really clear and easy to follow, and the information given is really helpful and not overly scientific. I also like that it covers the main aspects of puberty for girls too so that boys can have an understanding of what girls are going through too. The encouragement to talk about feelings and what their bodies are going through was really refreshing to see - boys have feelings too - and I liked how it emphasised that it is ok to have time to yourself and privacy when you need it also.

Informative and accessible
Very factual and informative but accessible to young children. A good place to start but later on you will need something with more information. The edition is not great, 2 pages came off on the first day.
