Bosch MUM6N10UC Universal Plus Stand Mixer, 800 watt, 6.5-Quarts with Large Slicer Shredder

Ok, here is the deal. I purchases this specifically for making large batches of bread, with the large slicer shredder hoping that it would be better than my food processor for slicing/shredding cheese.Mixer:I was hoping the large capacity would allow me to make large batches of bread. First test was a large batch of sticky pizza dough!! When i say large I had 2,000 grams of flour in the batch. The motor had no problem pushing through the dough, but for the majority of the time, the giant dough ball just spun around the bowl with the dough attachment. I am not exactly sure how this is supposed to knead the dough, the only time it did anything to knead the dough is occasionally it would hook up to the side of the bowl and the wire kneading attachment would run through the dough ball once. I was watching the top of the dough ball which was never cycled into the mix. VERY disappointing for kneading dough.Large Slicer Shredder:I was looking at this as being an option to use instead of my food processor with shredding attachment to take the work out of shredding cheese for making home made pizza. I started with the slicing disc to make chips of my 2 - 2lb blocks of mozzarella cheese. Unfortunately, although the slicer went through the cheese, it did not go through it easily, and despite only light pressure on disc itself (basically the weight of the cheese) it just twisted the driveshaft.Since these two tasks are WHY I decided to go with the Bosch I was pretty much done, ready to send it back, so I wanted to do my best to get everything washed and cleaned up prior to returning it. After all, I am sure this mixer would be good at other baking tasks, just doesn't seem to fit my use case. This is where I had my 3rd bad experience when I tried to clean the thing.Understandably there are some ribbing and locking tab areas of the mixing bowl, that is not a big issue I expected this. However I read the cleaning instructions for the slicer shredder about 5 times... the plastic parts are "dishwasher safe - top rack" but the metal disks waiting to slice your fingers off are hand wash only. This would not be too bad, except I had cheese gummed up in the blades of the slicer. Regardless I managed to get the disks washed, then dropped the plastic parts in the top rack of my dishwasher. Went to pack everything back in the box to ship it back, and what do you know, all of the plastic parts were melted and deformed to the top rack of my dishwasher. I read the instructions one last time to make sure I followed them as expected, and again am just disappointed in the quality.Overall I am sure this would be good at making cookies or cake, but as far as expecting heavy duty use as a bread mixer, or using the slicer shredder as an upgrade for a food processor, it just isn't.

I purchased a Bosch mixer, bread maker probably 32 or 33 years ago - from our minister's wife - I have used this machine all these years - the motor was finally starting to sound slow - could be because I was not paying attention 3 or 4 years ago and it fell off the cabinet when running - I finally decided I needed to "treat" myself because I knew I would need to replace in the future - and Oklahoma is starting to collect sales tax on Amazon shipping - this review is to say I have never had an appliance I have used so much and for so long - I used my Bosch 2 to 3 times a week - I just used my new one for the first time - it is certainly quiet and I love it - and I certainly would purchase it again - but think I will not have to in my lifetimeCheryl

This mixer is excellent and far exceeds our last stand mixer from KitchenAid. We had our KitchenAid mixer for about 20 years and the two main problems we experienced with it were that it often bogged down when makinh dough and it didn’t scrape the entire surface of the bowl. Right out of the box, the Bosch mixer was easy to wash and set up for the first use. We have had the Bosch for about three weeks and we have made pizza dough, cakes, royal icing, cookies, and whipped cream icing. The Bosch mixer has performed flawlessly, never Boggs down, and is easy to clean.

This machine runs quietly and smoothly. You can make large doughs in it, which saves so much time compared to hand kneeling. Flour tortillas turn out much better if you kneed the dough in this machine for 20-30 minutes.

I love this product except if I am buying this equipment and spending so much money why do I not get all the accessories for baking. Yes I got the bread hook and the whisk. What happen to the cake paddle and cookie paddle that’s not fair that I have to pay extra for it also the blender. Do not add the attachment to the base and not provide the blender.

I love using my Bosch machine, this is my third machine, the first one we lost in a trailer fire in 1991. The second one we finally wore it out after sixteen years. This new one is even better than the others. It is very easy to use. Thank you Bosch for making such a useful machine for the kitchen!

This mixer is the best I have ever had. I used to have another popular brand but it was frustrating to use. This is handy, simple, and yet large enough to do breads and batters. I love it!

I love this machine. It makes huge batches of whole wheat dough, and it doesn't smoke and whine like my old Kitchen Aid. The blender is great, though only 50 oz- my old one is a little larger. It shreds cheese well. When one of the shredder's plastic pieces warped, customer service sent me a new one immediately. It is great for cookies and whipped cream.
