There is no such thing as rear struts for GS300 2005. Check your car to see where the struts (if any) are located. I returned mine. Yes, instructions were included for the HOOD struts.

No, this doesn't fit and we don't have any trunk shocks for 1997 lexus ls 400.

is the amount of tension adjustable?

There are no tension adjustments. Make sure your trunk actually has a strut to be replaced. My Lexus GS300 did not, so I returned them. They did fit the hood struts, though.
