Not universal but can be used in 110 true 220v in my country(turkey) we use 220v and i do not have any problem about that. Great product, you should buy it.

It does work in US. I'm in IL and it works great! The charger will shut off onc it notices the battery is already charged.

I agree with the previous answer. You just place the controller in the stand, push it down to click in-place.The status light on the PS4 controller will pulse while charging.
