Light weight, well drawn card game
I purchased this card game because I LOVE the art work. It was one of the first ever games that I didn't find a rule book online to read before purchasing. I love researching whether I will like the game before I purchase and didn't do that with this one. However, it didn't disappoint. This is a very light weight, easy to understand card game. I feel like the best amount of players for this game is 3-4 players. It allows there to be a little bit more change over the flowers on the table and gives it a little more strategic edge. 2 players is fun, but lacks the factor of the board completely changing before your turn comes again. There are 5 types of flowers that you can build with 3-7 petals. You have 2 plays per turn based on 3 options of plays. When you win a flower you can choose to just gain victory points or a special power. When you finish a flower you get to keep the petals that each count a point in the final score. When you draw to replenish your hand at the end of your turn you can choose to draw from your own deck or a communal deck.I just absolutely love the art work. I feel like the game is easy to understand. The rulebook was well laid out and simply gorgeous itself. It is a fast paced game that you could play quickly with friends or inbetween a couple longer games. We have introduced it to a multitude of friends who range from serious board gamers to those that aren't sure they want to play a game at all. No one has disliked it yet. So, I think that shows its versatility as a good game to have in your game collection.

Wonderful game!
Nice game that doesn't take up very much room. It has become one of our favorites! Plays really nicely as a card game with the added element of small well-made wooden markers. Easy to store in a cute little bowl to keep out for easy reach. Very pretty and subtle graphics and player deck colors. We swapped out the cardboard stone markers for a bag of real stones, and it makes for a really nice playing experience. I will definitely be taking this to our all our family gatherings. Plays just as fun for 2 players as for 3 or 4. Suitable for elementary school kids through senior citizens.

Wife loves it.
This is a fun little game. My wife loves a lot of the Japanese themed board games out there so we decided to give it a try. Lotus is easy to learn and is not difficult, but there is enough strategy when determining what action to take that there is enough depth to the game that there is replayability. There are some aspects of the game where you are stepping on each other's toes to gain an advantage, but it's not too much conflict if that's something you are concerned about. You do have to "read the room" so-to-speak when making actions so that you don't enable other players while not hurting yourself by executing your own strategy. Overall it's a pretty good game.

Gorgeous art and a neat concept - a Light game with style.
I am a sucker for pretty games. If you like Tokaido you will probably like this for the art style.* Area Control* Hand Management* Pretty Components* Quick Playtime - a little longer than a Filler, I'd say this is a LightConcept: Vie for Enlightenment in the Garden of Wisdom with the help of your Guardian Insect pals. Score points for controlling a flower when it is finished and score points by placing the last petal in a flower. Collect power ups as desired instead of points to improve your ability to hold cards, play cards, and control flowers. Too many power ups may mean you don't score enough to win! Choose wisely.

Fun, Beautiful Game for Everyone
This game is a good light game that is relatively easy to teach and learn. It can be very simple, yet there is plenty of room for strategy even though some chance is involved in the drawing of cards. The cards are beautiful and game play takes some twists and turns as people activate their special powers and employ their strategies. I like that when two people control a flower equally, they both get the points/unlocking opportunity. We played this with 3 people and it was perfect. Highly recommend as a gateway game for more complicated card games. Easy enough for people who are not hobby gamers and challenging enough for hobby gamers to not be bored.

It was supposed to be relaxing, but you took it too far.
Possible the only game where the phrase "You just blitzkrieg'd my garden" makes any sense. The strategy is to get more petals and more finishing points that your opponents. And while the cards are quiet lovely, the game can get rather cutthroat if you're playing with the right crowd. The game can be very relaxing, with the pretty flowers blooming on the table and little caterpillars and ladybugs standing guard. But, mix in two people with highly strategic minds and the game becomes a battle of insults while stealing each other's flowers.I would definitely recommend this for a lazy Sunday afternoon with the sun slanting through a window.

BEAUTIFUL game, just kind of slow.
#notyourdaddysboardgameReally pretty with a unique concept! But kind of... bland.Gameplay: grow flowers in the garden by laying down petals. Complete the flower for points. You can also get boosts and have "control" of the flower via insects. The control thing was a touch confusing to read about at first but once you actually start playing you go "ohhhh I get it". You want to go for the boosts over points first. After that though it's... slow and sedate. Not bad, just not a first pick.Box and contents: standard size card game box, the instructions are laid out a bit odd. Just... start playing. You'll catch on quicker. Its far easier to teach it than read it.Players: 2-4 (3 or more is best)Difficulty: Low. Very little strategy required.Replay-ability: Definitely not one I'm going to go for first. Or second or even third. Again not bad, just not my speed.

Juego muy lindo y entretenido.
El juego es muy fácil de aprender, la dinámica es entretenida y visualmente es super bonito. El material de las cartas no es el mejor, peor siempre se pueden enfundar para cuidarlas más. Muy recomendable!!
