HASHIMOTO Chunker Scissors for Dog Grooming, 19 Teeth, 7.0 Inch, Light Weight

Excellent! I bought a pair of budget thinners a few years ago which were a drag to use on my aussie. The Hashimoto brand has proven to be well worth the money and more; They fit my chunky plumber's hand comfortably, and I was able to contour the dog's overgrown winter coat quickly efficiently.

Unfortunately, these arrived to me with a ridge in the straight blade that had to be professionally sharpened out, otherwise the shears wouldn't fully close and do their job correctly. These work BEAUTIFULLY though, and they take off a pretty good amount of fur, even if it's super thick, without causing any choppiness. They can also blend large areas quite nicely if you use them right. They're super comfortable to hold too and, despite the knick that was on the straight blade, they did come nice and sharp. The packaging was super sleek and expensive looking too which I really liked! *UPDATE* Unfortunately the straight blade has once again easily gotten a knick in it and is unusable unless sharpened after one drop, so at this point I'm unsure if the quality of the metal is too soft or cheaper than it actually is, because I have 20 dollars shears that I've dropped countless times with 0 knicks in the blades. That being said, I'd still recommend these as long as you're super careful, because they're great shears.

Love these chunkers. I’m not a professional groomer but I have a shih tzu that likes to play wild in the mud and water. These help keep her hair short. I also have the straight ones with safety balls. I highly recommend for dogs that like to see. These scissors cut nicely.

M6 chow chow 8s blowing coat and needed a bath. He also needed a sani trim on his back side. Being the sensitive boy that he is any type of pulling of his luscious locks and he stops cooperating. Today we bathe him and used the chunking sheers to bust out a few stubborn knots and cleaned up his back side. Worked great! Also worked great at slicing my thumb! Beware! These are extremely sharp!

I use these scissors regularly on both my Goldendoodle and Bernedoodle. The Goldendoodle prefers a scissor cut to a clipper cut. Without these scissors I could not be successful. They are a pleasure to use. After regular use for almost 2 years, they continue to do the job.
