Nordic Ware Easy Breakfast Set - Omelet Pan and 2 Cavity Egg Poacher (Microwaveable)

Purchased to replace their original style egg poacher which has lasted for several years. I accidentally broke one of the plastic hinges on the old model and thought it could no longer be used. I hesitated on ordering this newer style due to comments about it not securely latching, but after ordering and reading the included instructions I realized the latch is entirely unnecessary. If the simple directions are followed to poke 4 holes in each yolk then this prevents the yolks from exploding, thus there is no need to securely clamp the lid. Learning this led me to realize my older model still works fine even though one of its hinges is broken, so I now use both old and new poachers. The omelet pan is also a nice bonus to have. Before cracking eggs into the poacher or omelet pan I coat the cavities with a thin layer of avocado oil which makes the cooked eggs slide out more easily and reduces cleanup. After cracking/pouring eggs I grab a toothpick and poke 4 holes per yolk and have not had a single incident of eggs exploding, the instructions also mention adding a small amount of water but after testing both with and without water I no longer add water, solely because I cannot tell a difference by skipping that step. For slightly runny organic jumbo eggs the sweet spot on my 1000 watt microwave seems to be 55 seconds. These are fast, easy to use, and good value items to have.

The egg poacher does not close and I would not recommend buying it. The omelette maker is well made and I would recommend this

The pouch egg device works ok but after several uses doe not lock closed. Also one side always cooks more than the other even after trying different positions in the microwave. Have not used Omelet unit yet Cleans easy
