These are amazing hooks at such an affordable price! The colors are vibrant and nice. These hooks are a bit slippery but it is normal with these hooks!

This is a great set of 14, aluminum, crochet hooks for an exceptional price. I think it's perfect as a gift to a new crocheter or as a set to travel with. They are nicely finished aluminum - just like the more expensive, brand name hooks. These are not like the Susan Bates hooks, with the inline head (the hook is very sharp and not rounded and there is no narrowing at the hook.) These are the rounded, tapered hooks like Boyle hooks. That style is my preference but others prefer the inline hook. At this price, you can afford to buy a set and find out which style you prefer. The only issue is that they are not marked with the letter or number sizes more commonly used in the United States. They are only marked with the mm size. One good solution is to mark the letter or number size with a Sharpie marker on the hook and then wrap clear tape over that to preserve it. I marked the letter size directly on a bit of white, adhesive backed, mailing label and then covered that with clear tape. Here is the mm to letter conversion chart. They’re great but my hands do happen to be very small. I wish they sold these with the handles. I have little trouble but they’re great and good material.

Crochet hooks are one of the most important aspect of crocheting. This pack has nearly every hook you'll need (every size available from 2 mm to 10mm). The hooks are a sturdy metal that shows the size of the hook, and the letter. All of the hooks have held up very well over the past few weeks, and they all crochet as smoothly and well a they did when I first received them. However, the 2 mm hook feels slightly flimsy and weaker quality than the rest of the hooks. I'm assuming since 2 mm is a the smallest hook, the metal is also the weakest. I was weary of purchasing due to other reviews saying the hook isn't "curved" enough, but I haven't noticed an issue with it. If you have trouble holding the hook/are looking for comfort, then I would invest in more expensive hooks with grips. These hooks are very basic and aren't anything special, but they get the job done. They are just as you would expect them to be for the price. Overall, I think they performed very well for the price and quantity of what I received. I am satisfied with my purchase. I’ve tried a pretty wide variety of crochet hooks including plastic, ergonomic, brushed metal, wood. And to me these are by far the easiest ones to use. They are polished aluminum (I believe) so the yarn slides easily on the hook. I don’t have an issue with needing a so-called ergonomic hook, although I’ve tried them. The last ones I purchased had a rubberized handle, but the metal shaft of the hook wasn’t very long which made using them uncomfortable to me, plus the hook portion wasn’t rounded enough to it would stick on the yarn. I haven’t experienced a single issue with these hooks. Plus I love that each one is a different color making them easier to identify. And the size itself is extremely easy to read on the handle, it’s actually raised metal so it won’t wear off even after years of use. Love these!!

So, to address some complaints I've seen in other reviews: 1. Some of the hooks aren't smooth. I found that 4 out of the 14 hooks were a tiny bit snaggy on the inside of the hook part. I am not bothered by this, as they BARELY snagged the yarn, and honestly, I've spent money on more expensive hooks that ended up having WAY rougher edges. 2. The larger hooks are inaccurately sized. I do not have a measuring tool, but my 8, 9, and 10mm hooks all seemed correctly sized - at the very least, they increased in size appropriately, and the 10mm matched another 10mm hook I have (a different brand). 3. Cheaply made. The feel of these hooks is light (very light) but still sturdy. I don't mind if the hooks feel "cheap," but I'm also not making a living off crocheting projects - I do it for fun. 4. The US sizes are not listed on the hooks. I don't understand why this is such a big deal. People, the internet exists. These days, you don't even have to TYPE "what size is a J hook in crochet?" - you can ASK Siri, Google, or Alexa. As I tell my students all the time: use your available resources - you aren't broken. If this is a deal breaker for you, go spend extra money so you don't have to think hard. (Also, if you can remember 3792828 different crochet stitches, there is no reason you can't remember x hook = x mm. Just saying.) All in all, excellent product for the price I paid. I will most likely buy again.
