Data modelling for Power BI is a topic dear to my heart, so I was happy to see this new book published by a long-time Microsoft MVP, Soheil, who clearly knows his stuff. The book is very comprehensive and covers a tremendous amount of ground in nearly 600 professionally written pages. I was delighted to see chapters on advanced data modelling techniques, such as Aggregations, incremental refresh and RLS/OLS.Fundamental topics, such as modelling for time intelligence and the importance of using a star schema, also get covered.This book is an excellent addition to any library for someone serious about learning Power BI.

This book provides excellent meaningful and understandable language for any Power BI user. It is a great book if have a background and are interested in learning how to do things in Power BI. The author does an incredible job of outlining the issues you need to take into consideration but there's very little on the nuts and bolts of actually building Power BI apps. The book provides excellent in-depth knowledge of Power BI and different aspects of creating data model.

This book is an excellent guide to understanding data modeling and how to create data models using Power BI. The book covers how to connect data from multiple sources, understand data, define, and manage the relationships between data, and shape data models. The book also covers a range of aspects of data modeling such as star schema, RLS, and composite models.

Great book! Power BI has a so much potential, highly recommend if you are a data analyst that already uses Power BI of if you are looking to get better at modeling data in Power BI.

This book is fantastic. Explanations are thorough and clear. Anyone who wants to master Power BI needs to read this.

Most of us going through this book would already know that Power BI is a powerful business intelligence tool that can be used for data visualization and analysis. However, I feel that data modeling is an often overlooked skill that can serve as a strategic advantage when it comes to creating powerful dashboards and reports. Without a well-designed data model, the reports can become sluggish.This is where the book comes into the picture. According to me, the hallmark of a good technical book is being able to supplement it with good real-life examples, and this is something where this book excels. The book offers a mix of conceptual lessons and step-by-step examples. Helpful diagrams visualize table connections in sample datasets.I would recommend this book to slightly more advanced (or intermediate to advanced) readers and the length of the book may discourage some readers, but since the book is organized well, you can just pick the topic you might need!While it may require some dedication, the rewards of better data models and improved business insights make it a worthwhile investment for Power BI enthusiasts seeking to optimize their data modeling skills.
