Stable. Not heavy. Easy to break down for easier transport/storage. Hand rails are stable for balance, but I do not think they will save someone who falls into them. Though they are sturdy vertically, I think their height will act as a lever and overcome the strength of the tubing and connection. Sturdy vertically but they aren’t a guard rail. More, If the user is to be of extended circumference, check the clearance between the handrails if you intend to use them both.Also, if you intend to use this for entering a vehicle that requires a large step up, measure the height of each step and assess whether this, or any step stool, will work. We have a van where the step from ground to running board is 10”. From the running board to the cabin floor is almost 12”. This particular stool, at its lowest setting, will give you an 8” step from ground followed by a 2” step from stool to running board. It has no ability to help with that 12” step from running board to cabin floor. You need foldable steps, not a step stool.

I bought the stool to help me get in bed after hip surgery. I ordered this one because it had two handrails instead of just one that I saw on other steps. However, one handrail would’ve been sufficient. I plan to use it also to help get in and out of my bathtub because I did not have but one grab bar.

We purchased a new all in one Steam room shower, sauna, whirlpool unit for our bathroom and the step in was very poorly designed, unless you were 6' or over tall, which I am not. I purchased this for safe entry and it works perfectly, makes me feel safe. I put it together myself and that is saying a lot because I can't put anything together LOL always ask my husband. It was so easy and easy to adjust. I love the double handles and now I can enjoy the new unit, it is compact and fits nicely in the bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised at other users, like reaching dresser tops to dust that I usually could not reach and a million other things! Much safer and better than a step stool. At 5'3'' , I can now reach a ton of things and @ 73 it is not a problem lifting it, but I am a very healthy fit, (garden, can lift up to 40 lbs NP). U may find it just slightly heavy to move at first. Hey mild exercise is good for you! So if you are on the edge I highly recommend this unit. I absolutely love it! U will feel safer and I believe not regret buying this for multi use.

This stool is very well made and easy to put together. I bought this for my 81 year old mom so that she can get in and out of her bed easier. The step adjusts to 3 levels and the handles adjust as well. Definitely would recommend.
