Great reading
Received in good time, however very slight damage on one book. Great series read a few before now reading them all again.. An unmissable read!

Excellent books well presented
If you are thinking of buying these, you may already have read one or more of the individual books. Anyway, I will not write a review of the story: suffice to say I love all the books and have read them several times despite my ‘mature’ years. I admire the author’s characterization, his description of landscape, and his creation of a realistic world. The plots are a little simple, as you might expect from YA books: peril, drama, last minute success. That’s fine, it has a great tradition. Characters are the books’ strength, and I love the fact that many key characters in ‘traditionally’ masculine roles (soldiers, group leaders, doctors, and of course the heroes) are female. There is no hint of this being a gimmick; there are plenty of admirable male characters, but Garth simply does not accept gender stereotypes. Excellent! My main reason for the review is this edition: the price is very good, so I expected a relatively low quality paper or printing. Not at all: the paper is smooth and fine, the print is elegant, and the overall presentation is beautiful. They come in a nice (admittedly quite delicate) cardboard slip case as well. I bought these as a present, so I am very pleased! Highly recommended!

Fun and good value
Super fun and good value. Currently enjoying the first book. I find the author’s descriptions to be very long and partially unnecessary, but it's growing endearing to me to see so many analogies and the like to describe events and feelings of the characters. Despite this, its my only gripe so far and am thoroughly enjoying the series.

Great YA series
Great series and the cover art is nice. Handy that it comes in a box to keep them together. Only missing one of the prequels that came out after the set was done.

Deceptive product images
Deceptive. You get the books, but the pictures I've attached are what they actually look like. I was kinda shocked when the books I ordered looked nothing like the product images that I was sold.
