It is naphtha based, water should not work correctly. A few drops of lighter fluid or Coleman fuel should work well. I'm not going to give a warning, you're a grownup.

Can I use it on scratch mirrors?

Unlikely. This is used to polish metal by producing surface scratches too small to see with the naked eye. Just tried to buff out a crazed glass tumbler and the 2-3 micron paste is too fine for glass. Also, the solvent is likely toxic so would suggest you look for other options.

Can I use this for my axs/hatchet?

I imagine you can hone anything you want to. Just charge your strop and have at her.

What type of a abrasive is in the paste? Aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, or maybe diamond?

i believe it's a diamond paste. It cuts quickly and makes easy work of, well, a mirror shine!
