There's some redemption in it.
Putting fish in cans to last years has been a very efficient idea that we have been doing it for centuries. When I bought this, I had in mind an economical source of protein that could be stocked up each month to be incorporated into dishes on the fly with minimal prep. After trial and error, I have come to a conclusion. At first I had some misgivings about the product and was thoroughly disappointed with the taste but I'm relieved to say that I have found some use for it.The trick is to not cook it too much. It comes precooked right out of the can - both fish and the sauce. Do not use the tomato sauce in complex gravy and curry. Use fresh fish for that. The blend of spices and the tomato sauce doesn't work well and the dish ends up in a conflicted, muddled taste. Use it in simple dishes like rice and pasta. Both - the fish and sauce can be used. No need for fresh tomatoes which is a bonus. Remember. PUT IT IN VERY LAST. Don't cook for long. Or directly use in sandwiches right out of the can.For best results, use the can within 7 days. You can cover the can with wrap, refrigerate it and use every day or every other day. If the sauce has turned brown, the taste will not be very good. It has gone bad. There was not much scales and bones in the cans as others have said but the ways of cooking is limited. All said, I suspect the fish is not sardine at all but Indian mackerel. That's okay if you're only buying for the nutritional value.I will buy this on the regular for use in pasta - carbohydrates and protein intake.

A big disappointment and a waste of money.
A big NO.. sent for my father unfortunately was so disappointed, the fish is all broken into bits, with scales. There is absolutely no tomato sauce, but the fish is in a brime which smells disgusting. What a disappointment, for anybody planning to buy this, PLEASE do not. An absolute waste of money and time.

Just OK
This line of seahath products need some amount of quality control...it's just OK and palatable in my opinion. Wouldn't rave about it.

Fish had scales on them
The fish still had scales on them. Sauce was okay like, not very flavorful though. During these lockdown times, we don't have much choice and so it seems like an okay accompaniment to rice.

Be Careful... Unfit for consumption
I had kept the can unopened for a month or so before consuming as cans are meant for long term storage... It was well before the use by date. However on opening both the cans had discoloured liquid (greyish) instead of the tomato colour and the fish tasted horrible. I don't know if it's poor packaging or poor preservatives but I would suggest all buyers to be careful of this. And as I said, cans are for long term storage, no return etc is possible....BE CAREFUL
