The box was fine, a great idea and ready to install. We returned it because it can not go on top of of a panoramic glass roof.

It’s good product with great value and very useful and safe. It took me a while to figure out how to use the straps, so I recommend clearer instructions. If you are buying this please note that if you want it fit the case it came with, you have to fold it back the same way it was packaged. So take note of that when you first use it.

After inspecting the bag I found out it was not new. It had a damage.

This pack worked well on our 2024 Subaru Crosstrek (with the factory roof rails) and I recommend the pack. First off, it did not come with a pad so I bought that separately (Mockins?). I don't know that the pack would have slipped without the pad, but with the pad the pack did not slip at all. I used a stepladder to load the pack (after placing the pack on the car) & I took the stepladder with us for unloading/reloading (definitely take your stepladder if you can). The pack itself is made of material that seems durable. The zippers were big & solid. We had no rain, but the zippers are covered by a pretty good size flap & it appeared that the pack would be able to withstand rain. During travel (six hours each way) there was a little more wind noise than normal for our car, but not much; I twisted the straps & that seemed to work to reduce wind noise. I liked that each strap has a velcro piece at the end so you can gather up the slack. Our mileage only diminished by .3 miles per gallon according the car's computer, so that was no big deal. All told it was really nice not to worry about all the bulky stuff & using the pack allowed us more room in the car. Inflatable paddle board, beach umbrella, folding beach chair, gym bag with bike stuff, a bunch of extra towels, dog bed; all of it went on top, no problem.

We used it for a three-day road trip, and had "0" drama! Contents were dry after a moderate rainstorm. Absolutely no shifting of the load. Filling/unloading was a bit awkward, but that was expected. (Dodge vans are quite high.) This is a high quality, well designed, heavy duty, durable product. Comments: We put all items that could be water damaged into large garbage bags--this was unnecessary but cheap insurance, and made loading unloading easier. Pro-tip, use clear lawn & leave garbage bags so you know where things are. Loading/unloading was made easier with a three-step folding ladder. One more item to pack! Best of all!!! A lot of the load was one-way, so we were able to take the bag off of the roof for the return trip. Advantages compared to clam-shell units: - less expensive. - larger capacity. - easier to put on and take of of vehicle. - not a semi-permanent installation. (More practical if you have a garage to fit into.) - easy to store unit when not in use. Disadvantages: - might scuff roof (ours did not, at all). - less "classy" looking. In summary: - great for occasional use! - for frequent use, easily competes with plastic Clam Shell units. GREAT practical solution.
