Replacing the stock felt mat on my Audio-Technica AT-LP120 resulted in an immediate reduction in the hissing noise on some of my older vinyl records, and I also noticed a steadier, more stable movement of the tonearm during playback. The sound feels cleaner and the overall listening experience has definitely improved. A simple but worthwhile upgrade for vinyl enthusiasts.

Bought this for use on my Technics SL-1210 Mk2 (which I’ve owned since 2004)… Replaced the original rubber mat with Cork & Felt mats over the years …cork and felt accumulate dust… this is so much easier to maintain since dust and grime can be wiped away with a dry microfibre cloth and in case of stubborn stains, one can use a wet microfibre cloth without damaging the mat…material is acrylic .. the acrylic is the same that is used in he production of Vinyl records and so a good fit

The original project debut 3 had a felt mat and after 10 years was looking sad. This acrylic mat not only has revived the looks of this old player it has even managed to increase its soundstage. I am loving the new look and the sound , I just hope it lasts. Good product. Thank you Hudson Hifi.

Good product. Great finish. Does have some impact on sound quality. Because the surface is hard the stylus moves more firmly I suppose.

मेरे turntable की मेंट खराब हो गई थी इसलिए मैंने एक्रेलिक मेड का आर्डर दिया था परंतु जब इसे लगाया तो उसकी आवाज की गुणवत्ता में बहुत सुधार पाया मैं तो बहुत खुश हूं आप भी इसे बुला सकते हैं इस मेंट के आसपास किनारे पर रेडियम की पट्टी है जो चमकती है ऐसा मैंने महसूस किया

je craignais que le disque ne glisse sur ce "tapis" fait d'un matériau parfaitement lisse. Ce n'est absolument pas le cas. Au contraire: le tapis est parfaitement plan et il fait corps avec le plateau (en verre, sur ma platine) avant d'en faire autant avec le disque. Ce tapis est assez lourd et il est rigide. C'est une plaque circulaire assez épaisse et de fort belle facture. Je l'ai acheté en rouge. Comme il est transparent, cela permet aussi de voir le plateau au travers et de profiter de la transparence de ce dernier. Il y a un côté "classe" dans cet objet. Je ne sais pas s'il a un effet sur l’électricité statique, mais il est assurément une très bonne assise pour la lecture de vinyles. Je ne regrette pas du tout cet achat.

Per chi è alla ricerca di miglioramenti di ascolto al proprio impianto è bene partire proprio con il "tappetino" (naturalmente dopo aver dotato l'impianto di una buona testina). Una base stabile e di un materiale "coerente" con il vinile apportano realmente un miglioramento di intellegibilità del suono apprezzabile in relazione alla qualità dell'impianto. Naturalmente esistono in commercio diverse opzioni di tappetini dai costi notevolmente superiori e con progettazione e materiali particolari. Considerato il rapporto qualità/prezzo nonchè l'estetica è un acquisto obligato.

Estaba cansado de la estática que producía el tapete que venía con mi rega, cada vez que terminaba la reproducción de un vinilo al retirarlo se llevaba pegado el tapete. Con este Slipmat acrílico se acabó la estática. Mide casi lo mismo que el tapete original (3mm) no me afecto a la altura brazo/cápsula. Todo un acierto con este Slipmat Me hubiera gustado comprarlo transparente/claro pero estaba agotado

When you think of a turntable mat, the first thing that comes to mind is a thin piece of rubber or cork that is often used to top a relatively lightweight platter. In my experience, most mats add nothing to the performance of the turntable and often actually detract from it. I came across this product almost entirely by accident. Having taken on a project to revive an old Lenco GL 75 turntable, as part of the process I replaced the the stock tonearm with a Mitchell TechnoArm. Even with the VTA adjuster set to the lowest point, the stock Lenco platter needs a considerable height adjustment. To address this, an excellent platter by LencoHell made from Corian was stacked on top of the stock platter and its rubber mat. With a Denon DL-103R fitted to the arm, the combined platters still needed a further, small height adjustment to bring out the best in the cartridge. This is where the Hudson "mat" comes in. The photos show my use case. I use "mat" in quotation marks because to me, it is not a mat. Rather it is a 3mm thick piece of rigid acrylic that adds solidity to a base platter. Sonically, this should make a positive difference due to the materials used and its construction. In my use case, it worked perfectly, bringing the overall platter height up to ensure that the VTA of the arm could operate within acceptable adjustment. Care is advised though - if you are replacing an existing, rather thin mat with this, the Vertical Tracking Angle (VTA) of your tonearm will be affected. For those who are not familiar with such terms, a simple explanation of this is that when you are playing a record, your tonearm should look like it is sitting virtually parallel with the record being played on your platter - if the cartridge side of the arm is sitting too high, the arm will look like it is sloping down towards the arms pivot point - in general terms this will make the sound a little bit dull at the high frequencies. The opposite can also occur, but this mat will not make this difference to a currently correctly calibrated turntable, so I will not go into that. Therefore, if you are going to use this mat to replace a stock thinner one, you would want to make sure that you have the ability to adjust your tonearms VTA, effectively raising the pivot point of the arm to make it parallel again, otherwise there is a potential for the mat to affect the sound negatively in such situations. That said, some turntable set ups are not that sensitive, so it still may work for you if you cannot adjust your VTA. With that care note out of the way, I can say that the product is indeed very good and worthy of a recommendation. It looks funky too, which is quite important to my 14 year old.
