Johari West shirts are made from 100% high grade Indonesian cotton and have top stitch detail on the collar, shoulders, and sleeves with monogramed Johari West buttons. The Johari West Hawaiian or tropical style designs are produced using stamps that are approximately 8 to 10 inches’ square that are applied by hand in a repeating pattern. To obtain the specific color, each shirt goes through several hand dying and open air drying techniques that are centuries old and have been passed down through the generations on the islands of Indonesia. Due to the high level of individual hand craftsmanship involved in producing the shirt, the color and print may vary from the main picture. We believe that one of the true advantages of wearing a Johari West shirt is knowing that all shirts are individual with no two shirts being exactly the same.

I like the Johari West shirts
I've bought 8 or 9 of the Johari West shirts over the last few years. They are a regular cut, true to size, well made and soft cotton, really comfortable. The patterns are as pictured but the colors may vary from the picture on some shirts. An example is the leaves on the Floating Leaves shirt have a lot of grays and not much browns. Still looks good, but not as pictured. Some shirts colors are exactly as pictured. I wear a large, and for me, the short sleeves are right at the fold of the arm and could be 1/4 inch or so shorter.I like the Johari West shirts. I think I have almost all of each pattern they offer. Waiting to see if they offer something new and more choices in long sleeve.

Bought for my husband . Always loves so nice on him. Love all 4 of the ones I bought for him. They are comfortable and wash up nice every time.

Love these shirts
These are loose, light, comfortable, and well made. I'm always looking for them on sale but it doesn't happen any more. Wish they lasted longer but I wear them year round in Thailand.

Not as loud as it looks in the picture
I'm wearing this shirt right now, and I've purchased a couple of other shirts from this company. I think this is my favorite. I bought a few batik shirts in Indo when I was there some years ago, and I expected these to not last very long. It's true: the cotton is pretty lightweight (perfect for Arizona summers), but it has also held up pretty well, and when they wear, they don't fray, etc.You should know that the colors are generally much more muted/washed out than the pictures here on Amazon. They don't wash out over time as much as I expected (again from my experience of batik purchased in Indonesia), but they arrive a bit... calmer. I was a bit concerned that this would be loud or garish. In fact, the gold tones are more like a yellowish-grey. It's a very nice design. If you are *looking* for something very bright/loud, you may be disappointed, but I purchased in the hope that the pallette was a bit less extreme, as it had been on the other shirts, and I was right. Big fan of this shirt, and at this price, I'm probably going to buy a second one :).

Very nice shirt, but the colors are not accurate in the photo shown here
This shirt looks great, fits me as expected (size XL), and appears to be well made. However, the photo of the shirt accompanying this product listing on Amazon is not accurate: The leaves in the batik design look golden yellow in the photo, but as stated in another customer review here, on the actual shirt those leaves are actually a dull grayish tan. I will keep the shirt, but I am quite disappointed that its colors are less vibrant than depicted. The difference in shade is significant.
