When you change this sensor out ,do you really need to replace the filter, I think the filter is a bad idea of GM , any professional comments out ther

Short answer: The sensor will work without replacing the filter...Is it a good idea or not... all relative. Long Answer: On high mileage vehicles its not uncommon for small particles of sludge to make it way through the oil... especially after an oil change. The idea of the screen or filter is to prevent anything from clogging the sensor. I've had that cause a sensor to fail, and I've also seen the screens clogged. Theoretically the screen catching something could allow the sensor to work allot longer. On properly maintained vehicles and lower millage, never noticed debris... sensor usually leaked internally and caused the connection to fail. Hope that helps.

Anyone else have it fail after only one month?

Yes. 13 months & less than 10k miles.

Will this fit a 2013 camaro ss 6.2?

Not sure. I put it in a 2009 Yukon XL 5.3L. It's been working great for a year. So far so good! This installation video was great. https://youtu.be/2PRTkFH8xsM

Will this fit a 2009 gmc sierra 1500 4wd 5.3l?

Yes. It fit my 2009 Yukon XL 5.3. A little tricky to install. I watched this video and followed his instruction exactly and it just took about 20 min to change. https://youtu.be/2PRTkFH8xsM
