is nice. I know it's visible in the pictures but ...
Works well, is nice. I know it's visible in the pictures but just remember that the plug-n-play dock part doesn't work with the lightening connection. Can be a bit too bassy at times depending on the track & quality but I wouldn't really fault it for that.

Awesome now that I fixed the dropouts
Let's get this out of the way right away- you will need a 30 pin to lightning adapter if you have a newer iDevice. Logitech decided to stop making this instead of changing to a lightning connector. Too bad because the sound is amazing. This is a great AirPlay speaker. While you don't NEED to dock your device to set this up, it does make things much easier. So add an adapter to your shopping cart and place your order. Also, if you assign a fixed IP to this device in your router, it helps. There are other reviews with specific instructions on how to pair this speaker to your wifi network so I won't get into that, it's relatively painless using the app. I did find a solution to the intermittent dropouts that I was experiencing and other reviewers have noted as well so let me get into details about that:A disclaimer: I am not a wifi engineer. If you are a wifi engineer, that's awesome you probably don't need this advice and/or will find errors in my analysis. But I'm a technically competent guy who had a problem and solved it and wanted to share that solution with others.Initially I set this speaker up to connect to my primary wifi network which is 802.11ac from my Airport Extreme in the basement and 802.11n from one of my Airport Expresses setup as a network extender upstairs. I have 6 Airport Expresses upstairs hardwired to the network with audio out from each one connected to a separate audio zone on my whole-home audio amplifier. This gives me AirPlay to each room of the house. Wifi was turned off on 5 of those Airport Expresses. The UE Air Speaker is placed in our master bath (where we don't have in-ceiling speakers) and worked well, but when I would play from my iPhone I would experience audio dropouts every 5 minutes or so. This speaker is an 802.11g device which is a pretty old wifi standard with limited bandwidth. It is my understanding that when there is one 802.11g device on a wifi network, all devices will operate as 802.11g. So I was sending audio from my phone over 802.11g to the Airport Express then the Airport Express was sending the audio to the speaker on the same 802.11g network to the speaker. I speculated that perhaps the wifi was bogging down under the load. As an experiment I setup a hidden 802.11g network on one of my spare Airport Expresses (on a separate channel from the main network) and connected the speaker to that. Now the phone connects to the primary network and the speaker connects to the hidden network. Since the Airport Expresses are all hardwired on the same network through a switch the speaker shows up in the Airplay listing of devices.I have not had a dropout since switching to this setup. Everything works exactly as you would expect and the sound IS AMAZING. We are rocking out in our shower every morning.I know that not everyone has an extra wifi device laying around to setup a dedicated network for a speaker. But I did and I actually know a few people who have similar setups so if you are in the same situation this may work for you as well.

Computer can not find device
I have a mac and operate OSX 10.8.2. I spent hours trying to sync this with my computer. I called Logitech tech support and spent about 35mins with them. I felt he was not up to speed on how to hook it up. He said I should just plug it in and my computer will see it. I believe there are more steps to do but what he told me didn't work either. He just told me to return it and just gave up. One thing one should be aware of is Logitech support is a pay call. When I plugged a device in directly into the unit the sound was really good. So I asked if a supervisor might call me back and I could attempt to set it up with someone else. He said he would but no one ever called back so it was time to pack it up and return it.

Love it, great speaker, great quality.
Excellent speaker with great quality sound. I bought this to go in our exercise room so I can listen to music while working out. It was easy to setup, and within minutes i had airplay available. The sound is great, plays great from my iphone and ipad. Highly recommended if looking for portable speaker that can go anywhere (of course needs outlet)

Clean, clear, crisp, cost-conscious
I have an iPad3 and Mac Mini, so I searched for the right speakers to use with my Airport Express. I've had this on my wish list for awhile so when the price dropped to $162 I had to snatch it up. Out of the box, very simple to connect thru my iPad. The Mac mini, notsomuch. Right now, I can only play iTunes via the speaker, everything else comes thru the computer. I will play around with it today, and I'm sure I'll figure it out.The sound is clean, crisp. I've played Bob James, Uncle Luke, Billy Joel, Vybz Kartel and Drake. A variety of musical sounds that all sounded clean and clear. Reminds me of my mom's stereo growing up, Michael McDonald's voice mixing in well with Patti Labelle. I'd say this is a great speaker, really attractive with great sound that's easy to adjust. Worth every penny.****UPDATE****I can watch shows on my iPad without a problem. I figured out how to stream from the Mac, and the sound is fine. However, if I'm watching video because of the 3-5 sec delay, the sound isn't in sync with the video. This is ridiculous. I don't watch TV, only stuff on the net, so it's a waste of a good speaker to not be able to watch Netflix, Hulu, and Aereo. Took off another star for that.
