How many inches from wall is needed?

7” to full recline which is basically laying down. To recline to a normal tv viewing position, you could get away with 4”

I read on ashley furniture’s website in reviews that fabric is leather like material. is that true? if so would it be prone to peeling like some do?

The material that Ashley calls Durapella is a thick polyester/polyurethane which doesn't peel like bonded leather. There is a very slight suede feel.

Is the item supposed to be delivered into the home? I see someone had theirs delivered outside. Just wondering what others experienced.

Not only was it delivered inside the home, they set it up right where we wanted it placed.

Can you buy a console to add to the sofa?

No, the center console is only on the slightly smaller loveseat.
