No, I would leave the lids out when you microwave and heat in the oven.

has anyone used these containers for soup packing? is it really leak proof?

I have used mine many times for soup and it is definitely leak proof! The seal on these is amazing... the only thing I’d note is that the seal comes off when you wash them and it has to be put back on but it’s not too hard. Definitely worth it!!
