Mestemacher Organic Three Grain Whole Grain Bread, High Fiber German Bread, Shelf Stable, Vegan & Non-GMO, 17.6 Oz

This is a review for the Mestemacher Bread Three Grain, 17.6-Ounce (Pack of 6). There are several Mestemacher breads on the market and so far, each would live up to this very positive review. Even if the bread was not so excellent, I must say the company was immediate and very helpful when an issue arose. The Three grain, is a long rectangular slice, not the usual square slice. I find the long oblong slice more enjoyable to eat – don’t know why but maybe it is just being non-customary makes its experience more enjoyable. The bread’s texture is moist, compressed grains, and invitingly scrumptious. One can sense the grains and moist nature of the compound. The bread has a molasses, raisin, nutty taste. The taste is scrumptious. It is pleasantly chewy and substantial as to satiating hunger. I usually toast the bread and have used it as a sandwich, scoop for vegetable foods and as a cracker. Works great in all bread functions. I have even crumpled the bread and added it to soups to make them more hearty. It comes pre-sliced so you will have to make due. I had a problem with the last of six deliveries over the past few months. (I do like the bread and obviously have re-ordered.) I noticed the company of the issue, just to let them know. Within hours they explained the issue, and fixed the matter – on their own volition. Great bread – great company. Try it!

This product is durable when kept in the refrigerator. The thickness meets my requirements also. Since I fast on bread and water during Lent, this bread was a very good choice !

I have purchased this kind of bread a few times, but this time three out of the six breads were turned into crumbs. I wonder if that package which was not in a box but in a paper bag had been tossed in transport. That is disappointing. It’s too bad because I love this bread. It’s so tasty and it has a great texture.

Delicious, best used as snacks with spreads or meats. Very thin slices

this bread is the worst tasting I ever ate in my life and the loaf was way smaller than a regular loaf of bread cut very very thin. Not worth the price

Pure natural!!! Great and healthy No additives chemicals pesticides EDIT: because of that, must refrigerate after opening! My lipids lab test came back lower!

I see a lot of complaints here that it tastes sour, doesn’t toast well and falls apart when topped too heavily - that is all how it’s supposed to be. It’s a whole rye kernel fermented sour dough - contains no wheat. It’s NOT supposed to be toasted and just topped with a light smear of butter and 1 layer of cheese or cold cut. Then you cut it in half so it doesn’t break. That’s how we eat it in Germany. If you’re looking for “Rye Bread” (which is a combo of wheat flour and rye meal), which is great for toasting, heavy sandwich toppings and doesn’t taste sour at all —-> this isn’t it. This bread is awesome. Tadty. Traditional. Will order again.

If you like a hearty, earthy, sourdough flavor in your bread, then you would love this bread. It makes a great sandwich, toast with butter or cheese toast. My husband even likes it with peanut butter on it. It is filling and keeps you satisfied for a long time, in addition to you getting all the many health benefits of pumpernickel. We are on our 3rd or 4th order of this bread. It also truly stays good on your shelf for a long period of time. It is dense and heavy, so it's not like typical sandwich bread. If you only like fluffier, airy bread, then you may not like this. For it's perfect. We love hearty grainy bread and we love sourdough. This is a combination of both. It's delicious and a good buy, for what you're getting.
