Is it detrimental to the life of the filter if only used for a couple of weeks several times a year purely for holidays abroad.

Can't give you an official answer. But I was under the impression you could drink a certain amount through it so shouldn't matter how fast. We use ours on and off but just give it a thorough rinse if it's been a while.

Does this remove flouride?

Hi there, To my knowledge, the LifeStraw Go does not remove fluoride from water. As per the LifeStraw website: "Removes 99.999999% of bacteria (including E.coli, Salmonella), 99.999% of parasites (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium), 99.999% of microplastics, silt, sand, and cloudiness. Reduces chlorine, organic chemical matter, and bad odors for improved taste." These are the only key details given as to what the LifeStraw Go is capable of reducing/removing. Jack

Will the filter go mouldy if left damp between uses?

I would imagine so. When I get home I leave it to dry before packing it away for next use.
