Great little camera.
It was easy to install. Nice little mount easy to hide behind rear view mirror. It performed as expected. Image quality is good.I found downloading videos of any incidents very quick and easy with the app. It connects to my home WiFi when I get home and uploads any videos to the app so I can review and downloadGreat camera for the money.

Great Dashcam, with a few minor drawbacks
I recently purchased the Garmin Dash Cam 57, and overall, I’m reasonably happy with its performance. Here’s my opinion after using it for 2 months.Positives:• Excellent Video Quality: The 1440p HD video resolution is impressive. I’ve been able to capture clear footage both day and night, which gives me peace of mind in case of any incidents.• Wide Field of View: The 140-degree lens covers a great area, ensuring I don’t miss any critical details in front of my vehicle.• Voice Control: This is a feature I didn’t know I needed! It’s very convenient to start or stop recordings, or take snapshots, hands-free while driving.• Compact Design: The dash cam is quite small and doesn’t obstruct the view at all. It fits neatly on my windshield and is barely noticeable.• GPS and Incident Detection: The built-in GPS is a big plus, especially when reviewing footage for precise location details. The incident detection feature works well, automatically saving clips during sudden movements or impacts.Negatives:• Price: Although it’s a high-quality product, I do feel it’s a bit on the expensive side, even with the current discount.• Limited USB ports: The dual USB charger is nice, but having more ports or a faster charger would have been ideal, especially if you need to power multiple devices.• App Connection: The app setup can be a bit tricky at first. It took me a few tries to get it connected smoothly to my phone, but once set up, it worked fine.Overall, I think the Garmin Dash Cam 57 is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable, feature-packed dash cam. It offers excellent video quality and a range of useful features, though the price may be a bit steep for some. Definitely worth it for those prioritising safety and reliability on the road.

Neat, compact and easy to install
Took me 20 minutes to install using the additional Garmin constant power cable, which plugged straight into the OBD-II port underneath the drivers side. I hid the cable in the trims and headlining, just needed the handle of a teaspoon to gain access. I also bought a 512GB Ultra micro SDXC card, which was easily formatted following the instructions and gives me 3 days of recording before being overwritten. The footage is clear, especially when exported to my PC. The voice commands are great and everything is linked via the Garmin Drive app, which I also use for my sat nav. Highly recommended for car electrical novices like myself.

Poorly built, buggy, bad by design
I've owned this camera for two months now, and I've actually had a replacement from Garmin in that time due to the issues I'm about to describe. The same issues persist on both devices, so my advice would be to NOT purchase this device. It's badly built. You don't want to have an accident and then realise the dash cam isn't recording!Issue with slow memory card performance - I purchased the Garmin recommended memory card, a SanDisk High Endurance. The dash cam gives me constant warnings about the speed of the SD card, so I tested the speed on my computer using a speed test tool - it is performing optimally. I replaced the SD card just in case, received the same error from the dashcam. As a result, some recordings were lost. Both cameras showed this error.Issues with connectivity - frequently, both cameras would disconnect from my iPhone and I would have to set up the camera from new. This happened more than once on both cameras. Whilst it did not delete my recordings, it is an inconvenience. Also, the dash cam connects to WiFi (great) and you can view a live stream, but you can't view the videos on the camera over WiFi.Issues with not recording - my camera was always on, but sometimes it would become "frozen" and would not record, would not connect to my phone, would not do anything. It also meant it was not recording, and there were missing recordings. The only way I could fix it was by resetting it. This happened with only the one camera, but happened multiple times. I have only had the replacement camera for 2 weeks. The app - the app on iOS is really poorly written and buggy. The UI is horrible, the constant switching between Bluetooth and WiFi when trying to do anything is a real pain...Vault - it talks about Vault on the product description but you must subscribe and pay a monthly fee to use this, which is a bit of a rip off!

Superb dashcam, worth every penny.
I have fitted a few dashcams to family cars over the years using either fuse taps or convenient plug ins. Previously I have stayed with the value brand Apeman, which have been reliable and functional, but we bought a new car and I though I would fit branded kit. This little camera is suprb, it took my less than 10 minutes to fit and install, set up the wifi and complete the settings. It has wifi enabled digital vault back up in addiion to the SD card slot and has voice control. Small enough to hide behind the rear view mirror, you don't even see it in your line of vision. So far has worked for two years without issue. It is there in backgound as a quiet all seeing guardian.
