The Katana I received is exactly what I ordered from the advertisement. I had concerns with the item picture changing so often (daily), but I did get exactly what I ordered. The 28.8" blade is straight and sharpened. The colored (scalloped) area is slick where it's painted, and grabs the cloth towards the bare area near the (very sharp) edge. The blade starts at (Habaki) 6mm thick and tapers down to 4mm at the Kisaki area, giving this katana a 5.5" Point Of Balance, which is unexpectedly decent.. Sori angle is the optimal standard of 13/16" which is the same as my favorite Siwode and HMS katanas. The 10.6" Tsuka handle is wrapped with something gold that resembles wire - it is not wire, it's a ribbon.. I expected the Itomaki wrap to be tighter with wire, but that really isn't the deal at all.. Still, this is nothing a tight wrap of hockey stick tape hasn't already fixed a dozen times, with other high-value swords. Get some hockey stick tape.. If you think your Itomaki wrap COULD be tighter, it's because it SHOULD be tighter.. Get the tape.. ..Fighting the grip of a katana to control a live edge is (probably) nowhere NEAR as fun as it sounds.. Aside from the mediocre Itomaki, the rest of the katana is fitted together very tightly. The Tsuba and Tsuka hardware don't draw a magnet, but the tang does until the last 2.2 inches of handle. I've noticed this Tsuka handle feels a bit bigger around than most other katanas I've used, so smaller hands might not appreciate this a whole lot. Weight of this "Crackles" katana (without Saya) is the typical, Bohi-blade, mid-range average of 2lb & 7oz. The Saya fits the Habaki fairly well. There is some blade slap, but it is easily fixed with a 1x3" strip of milk jug plastic that you fold in the middle and push 29" down inside the Saya with a rifle cleaning rod, or a .25" dowel rod. The drizzled Blue paint scheme of this Saya is a little bit loud, and maybe a little bit (Space Pirate) Sci-Fi, but this (simple and ingenious) drizzle pattern does a great job of masking finger smears. The packaging was quite modest, but sufficient. No money was wasted on plastic sleeves for the blade or Tsuka handle, just the single, larger one for the whole katana. No sword bag or stand was included, but none were mentioned. The clamshell box is plain and had a heatshrink wrap that protected the package from rain. The Tsuba was trying to peek through the box (in 3 places), but just barely. ..Another Amazon box would have protected the factory box.. I had not used this "Eroton" seller before, so I couldn't be certain that it wasn't a scam (like REDBLADE-BK) - but this Blue Pirate katana was certainly worth the risk. And I am now comfortable with ordering from Eroton, if I choose to do so again. I caught this beauty on a Christmas sale (plus a coupon), and I couldn't ignore the incredible deal on this awesome and audacious looking katana. Eroton zeroed out their inventory, and I got this outrageous looking katana. Win-win.. Keeping the blade wet with Corrosion-X will ensure this gaudy, tacky katana stays as pretty as the day it arrived, but CLP or petroleum jelly will also work well enough for this. If the smell of Corrosion-X is too off-putting, you could always use the traditional Choji oil. ANY oil is better than no oil.. I'm not certain why the item picture changes so often for this product. Perhaps mine was the last one of its kind on the Eroton inventory, and the currently pictured katana took over this listing. It is a little bit unnerving, as you watch the entire listing CHANGE to another product, but I DID get exactly what I ordered. Recommendation: Yes. I got a great deal and I am pleased with the overall quality.

The Sword was delivered quickly & with no issues. Sword was described accurately. It is Beautiful! I love the blue colors & design on the Scabbard & the Katana Sword. It is sharp & has a nice weight to it, grips well in my hand. The price is beyond reasonable, I would buy this again. See Photos.

A little heavy, really nice design, coloring is good. It gets stuck and can be hard to remove from the case. It’s very sturdy and sharp, overall pretty cool.

I have used this Katana to cut through metal cans, water bottles and even some wood. It is definitely a legitimate katana. Decorative swords or cheap katanas in this price range usually bend or break all together, not this one! For the price is why I give it five stars. Sure it is not a Cold Steel Katana, or a Hanwei Raptor. But for it's price I am impressed with it's durability and legitimacy. Overall very satisfied with the purchase, have owned it for over one year and still very sharp, granted I have sharpened it a few timesm You can tell whoever made it definitely put some kind of tempering on it too keep it strong. Sure it's not the best sword around, but it's a great Beater and fun to mess around with!
