It works for my needs (amateur discord streaming)
I used this with my laptop (Legion 5 Pro RTX 3060, which is a Windows 11 laptop) and struggled quite a bit to get it to work well. I am new to this and just wanted to stream my Nintendo Switch gameplay on Discord. The capture card manual comes with a diagram (also there's multiple diagrams on the product page). The instructions were very minimal. Physical installation was easy. My biggest issue was dealing with the sound from the capture card outputting audio on my Discord microphone, which I ended up resolving through my system settings and Discord settings. Honestly I was about to return this thinking it was defective or that I had to have a second monitor to stream without audio issues. Even google couldn't help. After finally getting it to work, it was what I wanted. Just didn't like struggling to troubleshoot the issues. [Review end] ----- [Instructions for those who might need it:] Here's what I ended up doing from beginning of installation to end for my laptop specifically and without anything extra besides just the capture card, Switch, and laptop. Everyone might use this differently and depending on your PC the settings might be different, but maybe it will help someone who also wanted to use it the way I did: - Install OBS. 1. After installation, open the program and make a new source under the Sources tab by pressing the "+" sign. 2. Press "Video Capture Device" and name it however you want (I named it Switch), then press OK. 2. Set Device: USB3.0 Video 3. Audio Output Mode: Capture Mode Only 4. Turn on "Use custom audio device" 5. Audio Device: Digital Audio Interface (USB 3.0 Audio) 6. Close source tab. - In the OBS settings, go to Audio. 7. Under Audio, disable all Global Audio Settings but leave Mic/Auxiliary Audio alone. 8. Set Mic/Auxiliary Audio: Digital Audio Interface (USB 3.0 Audio) 9. Press Apply, then OK. Under the Audio tab (not settings): 10. Under the Audio tab (next to Sources), right click Mic/Auxiliary Audio then press Advanced Audio Properties. 11. Set the Audio Monitoring for Mic/Aux to "Monitor Only (Mute Output)" - Go to PC settings > System > Sound. 12. Input > set to Laptop Microphone 13. All Sound Devices > Input Devices > Digital Audio Interface. Make sure it is NOT set to default. 14. All Sound Devices > Input Devices > Laptop Microphone. Make sure it IS set to default. - Go to Discord. 15. If the application detects the new device (capture card) and asks if you want to switch to a new audio device, hit "don't switch" 16. User Settings > Voice & Video > Input > Laptop Microphone. 17. User Settings > Voice & Video > Output > Laptop Speakers. Device should be ready for streaming now with no audio issues. Also to stream games on full screen on Discord, simply right click on the screen in OBS > open "Windowed Projector (Preview)." Then go to Discord, hit screenshare, and pick that option in the Applications tab. It should show only the game for the audience. Then on your end, you can right click on the OBS screen > open "Fullscreen Projector (Preview)" and you can view the game just fine on a full screen for yourself. To check if your mic on Discord is working correctly, mute OBS and turn off screen share to see if your icon in a Discord call is turning green without you saying anything. If it is turning green it means that sound is coming through your microphone for other people in the call due to the capture card. How I fixed that was going to my PC settings > System > Sound > All Sound Devices > Digital Audio Interface. I turned that off and then back on. Then I went back to Discord to see if the prompt window to change audio devices comes up, then I pressed "don't switch" when it did. I had no more issues after that and was able to stream on Discord just fine. I typed all this out because it took me several hours to figure out how to get rid of the mic audio issue so I wanted to put this out there in case it helped someone else too.

Best of three I tested
I’ve tested three video capture devices, for converting old VHS tapes to computer MP4 files. [Rybozen--This one] HDMI Video Capture Card: Best results. Requires an HDMI input signal. Old VCRs don’t have HDMI output, but I understand conversion devices are available. Mine is routed through a DVR which provides HDMI output. Free OBS Studio software is required; the setup instructions are a little hard to follow. Oassuose VHS to Digital Converter: Input is either S-video or RCA-type video cable, generally compatible with old VCRs. The video quality looks the same as that from the Rybozen. The audio quality is not as good--low on treble. There might be a setting to correct this, but I haven’t found it. USB Video Capture Card: Also S-video or RCA-type input. The video resolution was not as good with this device--both in sharpness of focus and in color range. I returned this device and posted a more detailed review of it.

Better than expected, 4K pass through (only 60fps) but full 4k streaming, No drivers needed. 10/10
Overall best bang for the buck. READ THIS REVIEW! So I couldnt find any info on what hz this could run at and that was important to me. I run 4k displays and wanted to record things from time to time. For my girlfriend this works great, and for many tasks it works fantastic. Read until the end for my view. Facts: Using numerous cables I got the same results on pass through: 4K 60F HZ / FPS, no noticeable latency (did not measure), also I dont believe HRD passed through I will verify and update my review. 1080P HZ / FPS. This is sufficient for most higher end gaming if you are doing a live broadcast. Which I will address below. I personally just use an OBS with a remote stream typically but I wanted any easy to plug in, low work, low effort solution when I needed to plug in fast. This product did EXACTLY that. For simply making a video tutorial, recording my screen for desktop use, server use, etc. This was amazing. And not only that at this price point it is cheap enough to use this to remotely manage video out on my servers. +2 points right there. I wish it would handle 4K pass through (not record I dont care about getting over 30-60FPS which I was able to get) to my main display when I play a game for when friends want to watch. But thats fine I can do a remote stream for them if it is important for me to get 4k @ 120-240hz which most cards barely handle anyway. Now the best part. I plugged this into my pc, multiple Mac machines. No setup, no drivers needed. My obs 100% picked it up immediately. From opening the box to streaming I was setup within 5 minutes. Cables were supplied. I wish they had a newer one (which they might already have) with USB c or at least a higher HDMI pass through. Due to how cheap these were and how reliable / easy it was for compatibility I actually plan to buy some for remote sever management uses instead of using long HDMI cables when I needed to do bare metal work for servers without network based management. Overall everyone told me to not buy this. Wrong, buy it until you are ready to commit to a higher priced product if you need the resolution / Frame rate. The recording quality was 100% spot on of what I saw on my gaming computer, connection was easy as can be, streaming was the easiest thing I have done yet.

Good value for the price
Works well, but the sound quality isn’t great. Still a good value for the price though, especially if you’re just recording for fun. Can also confirm it works for the Nintendo Switch 2, but you might want to get a longer USB3.0 cable (the cable is really short) and maybe use a different HDMI. In case anyone is having issues with their audio in OBS, here’s what worked for me (for PC and Nintendo Switch 2): 1. OBS settings > Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mic/Auxiliary Audio > Digital Audio Interface (USB3.0) 2. OBS settings > Audio > Advanced > Monitoring Device > Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio) 3. Create new source > Video Capture Device > Device > USB3.0 Video 4. Scroll down to Audio Output Mode > Capture audio only 5. Check the box for Use custom audio device > Audio Device > Digital Audio Interface (USB3.0) 6. Audio Mixer > Advanced Audio Properties > Audio Monitoring > Monitoring Enabled (or Monitor and Output) (You might also need to create an Audio Input Capture Source) Also check your computer settings, like Sound and Privacy, and make sure you allow apps to access your microphone. Hopefully this helps!

Rybozen Video Capture Card – Honestly Blown Away by the Quality
I rarely leave reviews, but this one genuinely deserves it. Right out of the box, I was surprised by how solid this thing feels. I expected cheap plastic, but it's actually full metal with some real weight to it. The included cables are also decent quality—not flimsy at all. Setting it up was mostly simple. I use it with my Switch 2 and OBS on my computer. You do need to install OBS (it's free), then add a video capture device and select the USB source. The signal comes through smoothly once you do that. I was a little worried because some reviews said it didn't work with Switch 2, but mine paired perfectly and quickly. I think those people just didn't set up OBS correctly—you need to activate the capture card in OBS first, otherwise you'll just get a black screen. Video quality is excellent for the price, honestly better than I expected. Colors are very close to what I see on the console, maybe just a touch less bright, but that's totally normal. Audio is flawless—no crackling, no echo, just clean sound. The whole thing feels durable, like it will last a long time. Once you've paired it with OBS, it connects automatically every time you plug in the USB. To record or stream, you just hit start in OBS, do your thing, then stop recording when you're done. Super easy. Overall, I 100% recommend this capture card. I'd absolutely buy another one—or if the company wants to send me one, I'd gladly accept and review it again. Amazing product for the money.

Great! Mac Users!
Works as intended! I’m not crazy about NEEDING to have it 4k or anything like that. I just want to capture myself playing my PS5 games. The video looks great and I don’t feel any crazy lag from the PS5 to the OBS capture. I’m very satisfied with the results. Now, I’m on a Mac Mini and being new to this I was confused as heyull to get the PS5 audio in my videos. I got the mic audio and camera going though. I tried to follow the instructions, watched YouTube tutorials, etc. Still couldn’t. Figured out to go to Settings (in the Mac, not OBS), go to Sound, and on Input choose USB3.0 Audio. Now in OBS, in your Sources, click on the + icon and choose Audio Input Capture, Label it whatever you want, click ok, and in the drop-down menu choose USB 3.0 Audio. The PS5 audio should now be in the video and you can confirm on the Audio Mixer on the right in OBS to see the bar moving. NOTICE: If you don’t hear anything, make sure to open the menu on your PS5 from the PS5 controller by pressing the PS button, go to the speaker icon, press Output Device and choose HDMI Device (TV). If you have anything else chosen like your headset, you won’t hear any sound. Now, great! Got that going. How do I listen to my PS5 audio from my speakers or headphones with all that going? I don’t want to connect headphones to the capture card. Remember the Audio Input Capture you added in your Sources that you relabeled to get the PS5 audio in your videos? Yeah, that’s the capture card audio. In OBS, to the right of Sources there’s the Audio Mixer where you see all your audio devices working. Click on the 3 dots on the capture card one that you relabeled that brings the PS5 audio in. Then click on Advanced Audio Properties. A window will pop up, find the capture card device you relabeled, and under Audio Monitoring click on the dropdown and choose Monitor and Output. Now you can hear your PS5 coming from your speakers or whatever is connected to your computer instead of having to connect a headset to the capture card itself. On my Mac I have a pretty cool set up. I don’t have two monitors but I have an iPad. I connected my iPad as the second monitor, made it the main screen under Mac settings > Displays, and then switched my main monitor to PS5. Now I’m controlling OBS through my iPad and can see what I’m doing since I only have one gaming monitor. For sound I’m using my AirPods to connect to the Mac and my PS5 sound is there! Now I can record my gameplay, my voice, and capture it all. Thanks all!

The Good, Bad, and Overall
The Good: It will most definitely fit on your desk or in any area you may need it in. It still outputs the games at 1080p regardless of recording or not You can see what is going on from the TV if you want and can hear the sounds directly from the capture card It has low latency overall Comes with USB-A to USB-C converter just in case Cheaper with good quality Easy to set up Reliable for long gameplay sessions The Bad: You have to figure out a lot on your own and the customer service isn’t too great It can be annoying to set up and work with, seemingly disconnecting when it isn’t used for a while You need an additional HDMI cord for this device if you want to connect to a TV Sometimes it works well, and others it doesn’t. You’re essentially taking a gamble with the recording quality It advertises the fact it can record in 4k, but the dock output onto your TV will only ever be 1080p, meaning if you have a switch 2 it may not be the best bet. Also, when recording in 4k, it maxes out frame rates to 30. Understandable, but should be noted somewhere on the page to avoid confusion. The Overall: This capture card is the best option that is cheap and easier to use. It has several important features that make it in some places feel ahead of what the rest of the market it making. But, it does have some kinks and requires a lot of maintenance to work. It is an overall great option for those who don’t care as much about recording quality and just want something to record gameplay on!

720p?
Works really well and little to no latency but Im not sure if it's just mine but the product says 4k streaming and when I set up the capture card fully it only captures in 720p. still works great though

Easy setup and captured video within a few minutes
My grandfather was a director of Leeds United Football Club in the 1940s and we had a part record of a programme that showed his Chair with name that he sat on at matches. We wanted to capture and save this important piece of history for our family archive. We chose this capture card because it came with all the cables needed to capture video and had positive reviews. The Capture card arrived in solid packaging including Capture Card, HDMI and USB cables. I use a Mac Laptop so positioned it near the TV and plugged the HDMI cables from our TV Box to the Capture Card and the supplied HDMI cable from the Capture Card to the TV. Then connected the USB cable from the Capture Card to the Laptop. Loaded QuickTime Player on the MAC and selected the USB Video and Audio Inputs, this displayed the same video as on the TV. Played the small section of video and selected record in QuickTime Player. It was that easy to record a few minutes of video so we can store it for posterity. I can now take it to play for my father who is 93 so he can see it. While the package contains USB and HDMI cables there is no Audio cable or Microphone. These cables are more specialist. But if you were buying this Capture Card for Game Streaming you may like to have the complete kit available from the box. A minor negative the capture card does not transmit device control through the HDMI. Normally our TV and Sound Bar automatically come on when we turn on our TV Box. They did not with the capture card connected. This is often overlooked but once unpacked the capture card and cables were easily packed back into the box without the need for fiddly coiling and securing. Overall did exactly what we wanted, simple to setup and use and we achieved our goal with ease.

Great device
This is a great capture card! I’m rating it 4 stars as my experience with it COULD be better but with my laptop being the bottleneck my experience is mildly affected, otherwise it’d be 5 stars!

Excellent capture video
Très bonne capture vidéo, installation directe avec le boîtier sans driver. Quelques difficultés à avoir une image stable mais capture à partir d’un vieux caméscope ou ancien lecteur dvd. A recommander
