Why is it so choppy and barely picks up a signal? I even boosted it and it still can barely pick up a signal unless I yell

Plugs straight in like the original and looks the same. Good quality build. Actually picks up my voice better than my last mic but does seem to pick up more background noise than my last mic but this could be some settings rather than the mic itself but I don’t know.
