Easy to use and effective.
This is one of the easiest traps I have used and one of the most effective. The trap has two openings for the mouse to get at the food, eat and then leave the area. Refilling the bait takes less than a minute then the trap is set to go. This trap does not contain the remains of the critter so there is no worry about getting "creeped out" from handling the trap after it has done it's job.

Part of a two pronged attack
Worked for me! I tried trapping alone for about 6 months because I have a small dog and I didn't want to risk her encountering one of these bait blocks. I ended up not letting my dog in the basement while three of these were in my basement. I placed them up on top of the walls where the mice were coming in and out. After a few days, the mice had clearly been feasting on the bait, so I plugged the hole with steel wool hoping that most of them had gone outside to die. Unfortunately not all the mice were outside I discovered. They became desperate for water and began showing up in rooms I had never seen them (They were always in the basement, never saw one anywhere else). I put Snap-E traps in the rooms where I saw the mice and caught them almost immediately, which I think is more humane than letting them go on being poisoned. One day I heard scratching from inside the wall, I thought it was a squirrel it was so loud. Sad to say, that it was actually a mouse that caused the scratching because then I could smell it for a few days :( That is the last that I have seen or heard of any mice and that was about a month ago. Traps are all consistently empty and a new d-con bait block has gone untouched. I am hoping that I have eradicated my mouse problem.

On the advice of a friend, I crushed some ...
On the advice of a friend, I crushed some of these up with some Cheetos and spread them in areas the mouse (mice?) hung out a lot. I also placed some of the poison blocks in corners and behind furniture along paths I thought the mice traveled. It took a few days before there were signs that the mice were eating the bait, but after a while you could see them making inroads on it. It took several days for the signs of mice to fade away, so for a while I was worried it wasn't working since they were eating the stuff but demonstrably still alive. It turned out I needn't have worried. I kept putting the poison out and in a week or two the cheese powder stopped disappearing, the poison bait stopped getting nibbled on, I stopped hearing mice running around and I stopped seeing signs of their presence. Altogether a highly satisfying experience, and I still have more than half the bag left over in case of future need.

Maybe safer for the pets and human rug rats but not as effective as the smaller pellets.
These don't work as well, compared to the smaller pellets in a box. The smaller pellets are more efficient, more likely to find their way to the intended target, especially with mice. With the larger d-con bait, after a few weeks of being placed in it's corner fit container, I have yet to see the bait being disturbed at all. Only after I started cutting up the bait into smaller pieces and putting them in smaller open boxes have I noticed that the bait is disappearing. I cut up each cube into 8 to10 smaller pieces and it has made an immediate difference. I understand the safety issues and this version probably does have it's place but I don't have pets or kids running around, so for me personally, I prefer the smaller bait pellets more commonly used from years earlier. The larger bait cubes being placed into a corner fit box seems to limit its effectiveness.

clears our rats quickly
We were so tired of trying to deal with the rat problem in our house, we had tried everything. Putting all the food away, trash outside, keeping the house super clean and nothing. We still had rats because of our hoarding neighbors. We bought different traps, poisons etc. and nothing seemed to work until one day my brother told me to try this product. Lo and behold, my husband put the entire bag in the attic and we haven't had a problem with the rats ever since. Just make sure you don't touch the bait or the rats won't go near it.
