Works GREAT on stovetop!
***UPDATE after 2 years of regular use - July 2025***I continue to love and highly recommend this Lodge 10" dual handle skillet for stovetop use. I use it very regularly since it is the perfect size for my family. Although the surface was pretty smooth when it was brand new, it has become slick and very smooth now after 2 years of use. If frying an egg for example, very little oil (about 1/4 tsp.) and a brush to spread it around is all that is needed. The lightness of this pan compared to the Lodge 10" skillet with 1 handle is definitely a bonus since it makes moving the pan around when full a breeze.***Original review - July 2023***I was looking for a Lodge 10" skillet with 2 small handles like this one instead of the traditional 1 longer handle - which I also have but will be giving to my daughter. So when I found this one, it looked perfect. My only doubt was that it was named a baker's skillet meaning it is meant only for baking. Some reviews also mentioned the lightness of this skillet when compared to the long handled one. After trying it on my stove several times over the past couple of days, I am happy to say that it behaves EXACTLY the same as the long handled version.I highly recommend this baker's skillet for its quality, lightness, dual handles which make it super easy to use and its size for everyday meals.

A pan of versatility and quality without breaking your bank
A cookware of great value and versatility. Browns meat beautifully. Non-stick when greased and heated up sufficiently. Love the dual handles which allow for easier storage. A great addition to my kitchen

Great pan!
Great pan for making old fashioned corn bread! Increase the recipe for a 9" pan by one-third & you're golden! Try sweetening it with blackstrap molasses for that country flavor. This pan is great & nothing sticks to it! Preheat it to screaming hot in the oven before you put in your cornbread mix.The two handles makes this heavy pan easy to lift in & out of the oven

Trusty cast iron skillet
This is my favorite skillet. I use it all the time for just about anything. It was very easy to season and it hasn't been a problem keeping it that way over time. It's a nice weight - as expected for a case iron - and it's really great having the handles on the sides rather than one long handle. It feels sturdier when picking it up from the oven, since it's so heavy. This thing is a workhorse. You really can't go wrong with Lodge products and this one is no exception.

First time using Cast iron and I'm impressed!
I'd recently seen a bunch of videos showing how to make a Dutch baby, which is something like a Yorkshire pudding or a German pancake, and I really wanted to try the recipe. I noticed that everyone used a cast iron skillet and I didn't have one, but decided to get one and give it a try.I'd always shied away from cast iron because it's heavy and it can't be wet or it will rust. But when I found this 10.25 inch size with the little handles I thought it would be perfect, and I was right. The pan is well made and it's not too heavy, it's easy to move and use. As you can see from the pictures, my savory Dutch baby came out perfect on the first attempt at using the skillet. After using it, it only required a quick wipe out with a paper towel and it's ready to go again, and the Dutch baby slid out of the pan perfectly with no sticking at all. My husband declared it his new favorite meal, and I love that it was so easy to make. I expect that this pan will be used a lot in this house, and I love its quality.

All purpose. Super durable.
There is no doubt that Lodge is a great pan. I got this one for broiling park chops. The first thing I cooked, however, was a peach cobbler. Tasted great but was completely BLACK. Note: Wash pan WELL before using. Scrub it all over. There is a THICK coating of black material on the pan. Im guessing it protects the pan from rust during shipping? Anyway it didnโt effect the taste of the cobblerโฆjust the color. Great pan. Not too heavy. Easy to clean.

Great general purpose skillet for use on induction burner or in toaster oven
I have had a regular long-handled Lodge 10" skillet for yearsBut recently, I had to move to a Seniors apartment with a small galley kitchen. Little counter space, but worse - the oven was one of the 1/2 size electric coil disasters. Which I will rarely use - only with my non-induction Presto pressure cooker. As a result, my cooking is now done mostly with a single induction burner, and new countertop Smart Oven & air fryer..So my old long handle would no longer fit in the countertop oven for baking, roasting, etc. This one fits perfectly. Labeling it a 'Bakers skillet' is a disservice. It is just as much general purpose as the long-handle. Even a bit lighter and easier to move aroundA great skillet for use with single induction burners and counter top ovens

This is the PERFECT Baker for Everything!
I already owned the Lodge 10" double handled skillet with the Cast Iron Lid and it is perfect for all my skillet uses as well as serving as a small brazier with the lid. It will bake, but I always thought it was heavier than needed for baking.I saw this "Baker" advertised and immediately noted the lighter weight. After reading the reviews, I ordered this pan along with the "sized" red rubber handle protectors. I am glad I did.Wow, this thing is a baking machine. I have now done about 25 different cornbread recipes worth of cornbreads and this thing is perfect. It takes a 400 - 425 degree preheat with ease and sizzles that batter as I drop my pour. I have scanned the preheated pan with an IR reader and it is perfect from rim to rim and across the center. The weight difference is Wonderful for getting the hot pan in and out of the oven. I have ZERO sticking issues.Preheat it for a pan of drop biscuits or grease it up for a pan of cut biscuits. No hot spots.I did work on the seasoning a bit before my first bakes but only in that I used a can of crisco shortening and layered on a bit more seasoning. You can't go wrong with this one, especially at the price. Get the rubber handle heat protectors for this pan but clip them on AFTER you pull the pan with your mitts.v/r rch

Fry-up forever.
The perfect pan for us dedicated fry-up fanatics. The perfect size, the perfect weight, base is flat as glass for a halogen hob, non-stick out of the box and will fit in any British oven for those who want to season the pan before use and/or after cleaning. It'll outlive you and your Grandchildren absolutely indestructible. For most of us chaps, it's the only pan you'll ever need. Teflon coated 'non-stick' pans are a nasty gimmick, chuck 'em all in the bin and get some proper heavy metal in your life.

A must have skillet
A good quality cast iron skillet is a must for that perfect high temperature sear. This skillet is perfect, high quality, good size, great surface. Highly recommend.

Love this skillet for camping
Went with the "used like new" for a very low price. Item was not used in any way (Lodge sticker was still on the cooking surface). This is my second baker's skillet like this. Great size for the camp stove, and is better not having long handles for this purpose (free up room in the small space, and not have to have the handles hanging over the edge with little ones around while cooking bacon with hot grease). Some cast iron enthusiasts knock Lodge for being lower quality. Go ahead and pay 5x the price for Stargazer, Made-in, etc. then. If you know how to use cast iron, Lodge has everyone beat in the "bang for your buck" category. I use Lodge cast iron at home on my induction stove and at the camp fire, on gas burners and on the open campfire. I also purchased a cast iron lid (not Lodge, but fits perfectly) so I can do campfire pizzas in it (place hot coals on the lid to cook from all directions). Only wish that the camping season was longer.
