Great Unit. Wish both USB ports were higher wattage
Our 2012 Rav4 already had a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH installed in it when we purchased used. The sound was great however didn't offer AA or Carplay. So we switched to a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX. And I can't say this unit was worth it. For starters the wireless AA would have constant crackling and static noise, could have been from interference but it wasn't that great. The overall sound of that unit compared to the one we already had was worse. Having to make multiple tweaks and adjustments just to get it to sound decent - not good - decent. Overall kind of sluggish and kaggy. Kept it for 2 weeks and decided it wasn't worth it.We originally were looking at Sony units but figured to stick with Pioneer and yeah that was a waste of 2 weeks. After some research we were decided on either the AV4000, AV5600, AV6000. The 4000 and 6000 come with wireless AA and USB C input while the 6000 has HDMI. The 5600 doesn't have wireless but wired but also has HDMI. I figured to just get a MA1 and now I have wireless. Plus I liked the fact the rear camera and steering wheel control are already integrated into the unit with the 5600 while the 4000 and 6000 has a separate cable. For our car not having to have that separate cable and wiring was a difference. So we went with the 5600. And I can say this unit out the box sounded amazing, on par with the original Pioneer unit we had in the car that was easily years older. Thought the 5600 doesn't have the updated UI like the others, it doesn't really matter. The UI on the 5600 is straight to the point and simply. You know where your going and what to do with out habit to dig for minutes trying to find something - The way it should be!My only grip is the USB PIGTAILS. One is rated at 1.5 outage and the other 0.5. Sucks because I wanted to power my R4 with the main usb but also connect the MA1 but it seems I may need to find a different solution or work around. I know I can rewire the cigarette port to be usb if needed. I wish they could have just have them both rated for the same outage.Haven't tested the HDMI yet but in due time.Overall the sound quality alone without having made any adjustments has me sold to stick with Sony moving forward. If your looking for a great sounding headunit stick with Sony!

Screen is a little dim, but for the price it's good.
Updated kids Toyota corolla to modern infotainment with android auto and backup camera. Integrated well with steering wheel controls. Bass is weak, but otherwise sounds good.

Installed this on a 2018 Harley FLHTP
I bought this receiver because of the compact rear chassis (single DIN) and the front is full double-DIN, which is required to fit on a Harley. Paired this with a wireless Car-Play receiver and I am very happy with the product. Installed a pair of JBL 150W speakers and the receiver amplifier is only 55W, the sound was good but not the best, added an external amplifier and the sound is much better now.

Decent radio degraded by terrible screen, consider the newer generation instead
As of spring 2024, this head unit is Sony's mid- tier offering of the previous generation, currently available at a steep discount, making it cheaper than the current generation's entry- level AVX-4000. So this seemed a compelling option to me - a better tier at a lower price. I mean, how much could car radios have evolved in two years, right? The answer is, actually, a lot. I've used this AVX-5600 for a few weeks, and while overall the unit does perform as expected sound-wise and such, the one major, MAJOR issue for me was the screen. Never mind the low resolution (most car radios have that), but not only is the screen rather dim, is basically ILLEGIBLE when driving with polarized sunglasses. I found myself moving my head over to the right while tilting left, just so I could make out some directions. This is obviously ridiculous at best, and borderline dangerous at worst. If you don't drive with polarized sunglasses, and have a dark interior where the sun can't wash out the screen, or don't rely on this headunit as a Carplay/AA display, you might be fine and enjoy an otherwise nice radio at a good price. But, I've since switched to the newer AVX-4000 which, while being "low end" with a resistive touch screen, has a much better display. It's not very bright either, but it's more glare- resistant, and most importantly doesn't dim out when viewed with polarized glasses on. It also has several killer features over the AVX-5600, like wireless AA/Carplay, Maestro input, LDAC Bluetooth, and a GPS antenna. But really, it's the screen that makes the AVX-4000 usable in the first place.

Nice upgrade!
Really nice unit. Brought my 2005 E-320 into the present. The only slight annoyance is that you need to be plugged in if you want to watch videos on the screen.
