Really put it to the test!
Last night I was melting down some beeswax caps mixed with honey to make my own beeswax bar, and I ordered this product to be my filter as the last step in the process. I used about half of this whole package of cheese cloth folded up over an empty and washed out milk carton and secured it with a rubber band (see photo). I forgot to take a picture of all the stuff that stuck to the top of the cheesecloth that didn't make it through the filter but it really worked at seperating the honey and wax from the debris. I was left with a nice clean chunk of beeswax that seperated from the honey while I let it sit over night. Now I'm not super familiar with cheesecloth so this could be normal, but the edges were a little frayed. Nothing some scissors couldn't fix if I was worried about it, but the edges weren't going to be near my wax anyways so it was okay. Also, 9 square feet was smaller than I thought! I measured it though, and it really is 9 square feet. Over all I would recommend this cheesecloth, it worked great even with some super hot and thick beeswax (that stuff is like hot glue!!) And was able to give me a nice clean chunk of wax as a result.

It shrinks when washed!
My package came with the plastic covering ripped, which wasn't nice to find. Regardless, this works very well, and has multiple uses. Make sure you thoroughly wash the cloth and let it dry before you cut it!! (I made the mistake of cutting it before I washed it and the piece was almost too small to line my steamer.) So, it shrinks a bit once it's been washed. The edges are delicate, but it holds together well. One use I needed it for was cooking guavas to squeeze the juice out and keep the hard seeds from falling in the pot. I've strained broths with it, too. And made a small satchel to keep the hard spices in (like star anise and cinnamon stick) for cooking soup.

Nice quality, and finer than other "natural" cheesecloths I've bought
This is my favorite natural cheesecloth so far, so I'm inspired to write a review. One problem I've had with natural cheesecloths is that several brands have fairly large holes, even if they are labeled fine. The "ultra fine" designation on this one is actually accurate. This morning in making almond milk I doubled the cheesecloth out of habit and it was so fine that the milk didn't strain through at all. From now on I will be using just a single thickness of this product for most uses! The price of $5 for a 9 inch square is a bit higher than other brands, but I will save money by not needing to double it. I usually use a square about 6 inches by 6 inches, so I expect to get about 18 uses out of it--or about 27 cents per use. For my purposes that's cheap enough. For those who use a lot of cheesecloth, you might consider buying in bulk at a fabric store or online fabric retailer. Many readers may already be here because they want a natural cheesecloth. For those used to "conventional" bright white supermarket cheesecloth, I'd like to note that this is muslin beige color. I prefer natural cheesecloth since I see no reason to put bleach in the environment as this color is just as nice as the white. I also find the idea of bleach having been on the fabric unappetizing, though I'm sure it's all washed off.

truly inspired by a bunch of diy food blogs I had tried my cheese,.WOW...!!!!
After being truly inspired by a bunch of diy food blogs I had the opportunity of reading last month, I felt ready to take on more DIY projects, and really amp up my pantry storage. With this, I decided to start by making my own cheeses. So, what did I need to start my fromagerie? I bought this 1 X Organic Liquid Vegetable Rennet, 2oz. , Citric Acid Powder - Ultra Fine Pure Powdered Crystals - Natural Preservative Food Grade Quality (16 oz) , and our Regency Cheesecloth here. After following the instructions very carefully, I…failed. I actually didn’t follow the instructions carefully, I completely made a misstep in the amount of both rennet and citric acid that I was supposed to put in, resulting in a goopy mess. I tried again, this time basically writing the instruction on my hands so that I wouldn’t mess up, and wouldn’t you know it—it came out pretty damn great! I can’t believe that not only was it edible, it also tasted really good. It was amazing. I started with ricotta, but feeling confident from my first cheese I then moved on to mozzarella. Success! I can’t believe it, but I did it, and the cheesecloth worked perfectly well. Now, I’ll be honest dear Amazon readers, I’m actually not going to be open a fromagerie so now I have all of these tools to make cheese, but little passion for the making itself. That said, I found other uses for my products. Well, kind of. The rennet: no chance, I haven’t found any use for it, someone please comment on this post and give me a use for it. The cheesecloth: so many cooking things. Anytime I need to take some of the liquid out of something, I use my cheesecloth. Basically, for any kind of filter you could need in the kitchen, my cheesecloth works as it. Now, the piece de resistance; the citric acid. The citric acid has so many uses that, finding more uses is actually becoming one of my obsessions. I (will) use it for preserves, I use it for my fruit salads, I (will one day) use it for making bath bombs, I even am going to try to clean my dishwasher with it this weekend. The brand is pretty good for the cheesemaking, as it leaves it with a really clean taste, as opposed to another brand my friend tried that she said gave it a funny aftertaste. Okay, gigantic monologue over, I recommend all of these products, and I hope you enjoy making ze cheese!

very loose weave
Arriving promptly, I anticipated straining fruit immediately. I was disappointed it won't work. It's not wide enough and he weave is poor. It's cheesecloth. I expected some roughness but not as sloppy as this was. Adding to that, it being only 18" wide, I was a bit disappointed. I will use this for straining paint now instead of food as it is much too coarse for what I need. I take half the blame for my disappointment as I neglected to verify item particulars first. It states 45 square feet and without measuring, I'm fairly certain it is. I simply expected a sort of squarish product. A roughly 6' x 7' item, not a 1.5' x 30'. My fault for not double-checking. On the plus side, the pack arrived promptly and the price was reasonable for what was delivered. If you're looking for simple cheesecloth and don't require a wider area of coverage as I did, you should check this out. The seller provided what was advertised. My rating was for the width and the fraying. For the price, I'll just use it elsewhere.

Excelente calidad
He visto la misma tela en diferentes precios pero no hay mucha variación. Es verdad que el precio es alto pero la calidad lo vale y funciona perfecto para hacer queso. La tela dura bastante, no se rompe ni deforma.
