Once you get the hang of tension and which way is best to wind, this winder is great. It makes perfect little cakes that are much easier to work from than your typical skeen. It does what it says on the box. My only problem is once the cakes get a little bigger the wool sort of flips off and goes underneath the resting plate and into the gear mechanism but that’s easily fixed by winding a little slower and keeping an eye on your tension. You can’t really wind cakes bigger than 1 whole 100g skeen (so if you wanted to connect sirens for bigger cakes that won’t really work as quite a small device). There’s a good sturdy quality to this device too. It doesn’t feel flimsy when you’re using it. Apart from that I think that this winder is great for beginners and I would definitely recommend.

Good quality yarn winder, can work fast and rarely sticks. However, the little metal arm doesnt stay up properly by itself, so you either need to be very gentle or wrap something around it to hold it in place. It’s also a little on the small side, but not too bad overall. Good value for the price!

Bought this yarn winder as a gift for a friend. The size was great and it works well as long as you don’t put too much yarn into it or too thick of a yarn on it. It makes crocheting or knitting so much easier as you’re not having to unravel yarn from the ball and it just pulls so much easier. My friend has re-winded all yarns that she can to make projects easier, she’s very happy with it.

It's a decent product and does what is needed but the metal piece you thread the yarn through isn't stable in the slightest and constantly moves around if you don't hold it in place as well as the price that the yarn is spun on falls off if you accidentally spin it the wrong way, it doesn't come off immediately so it's mildly annoying to either put back on and continue doing so it the ball is at the end or starting all over again. Personally will be sticking with it cause the issues are easy to work with but it's something to keep in mind

This product is quite flimsy and not really worth the money. I have ended up throwing it away as it broke after only a few uses. The metal arm does not stay upright when winding yarn making it frustrating to use as you need to hold it in place. It also does not fit a 100g ball of yarn, more like 50g

At first I wasn’t sure as the spindle thing kept falling off but you need to pull it firmly and bingo it never fell off after that. Makes light work of all your loose yarn you have laying around and keeps them neat and tidy.value for money and the size is good. Easy to use
