It's spot on
It works well. I got it for my son who plays banjo and is learning fiddle, guitar and cello. It works for all of them.

Handy, inexpensive, with many small flaws
The tuner folds to be small and fit into a case. It works even when other nearby instruments are playing. However, 1. the buttons are small for adult fingers; 2. the top button is multi-function, so if you give it too short of a press to turn off, instead it resets A to 430, then you have to cycle through multiple frequencies to get back to 440 and a long press to turn it off. There should be 3 buttons. 3. the symbols on the buttons identifying function are too small to read. I put paint on the top button to identify on and off (plus the other things it does); 4. it only sets 4 note frequencies, if you want the E string tuned to C for roots music, you are out of luck. I will eventually buy a more expensive tuner without these flaws.

Awesome. Awesome. AWESOME!!!!
After giving one of these little tuners a GOOD run for its money, I decided that I'd buy an additional three tuners so that I'd have dedicated tuners for my bass, violin, viola, and cello. That's how much I ADORE these tuners! Simple to use. Just make sure that, if you are using them for tuning methods OTHER than open strings, that you MUST use the chromatic setting (say, for instance, you are adding position tapes). Also, make sure that you are using them in 440 Hz setting. I know that it takes a little time to get used to the buttons, but with MINIMAL use, you'll be used to the buttons in NO time. As for battery life, well, I have NO complaints. I CANNOT say enough about these tuners. WELL worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!

Does not fill the niche
Tuners are a dime a dozen, but a tuner that mounts on a pegbox and viewable by the musician is a rare and desirable commodity. Unfortunately, this product is geared towards the fractional-sized violins; 3/4, 1/2, etc. It is a big stretch of the clip to fit on a full-size violin, let alone viola, cello or base. The battery cover attaches with a tiny Philips head screw, so replacing it while away from your workshop might be a trick. Nice that they include a spare battery, but the compartment does not indicate + and - side, so you need to know your battery design and connectivity principles to get it in correct position. Other than that, the unit seems fine, with a bright display. The "chromatic" setting (be sure to switch to it from "violin") is a big help for skill-building fingering and ear training on a fretless playboard. If they fixed the mechanical design issues it would get 5 stars.

Spot on accuracy!
As a novice violinist, achieving the perfect tune is crucial, and this tuning tool delivers precision that has garnered approval from my wife, an accomplished musician, as well as my violin instructor and a separate electronic tuning device. It has proven to be a true time-saver, effortlessly clamping onto the pegbox with speed and ease. The visual clarity it provides is exceptional, even for me without my glasses. Its compact size is a standout feature, seamlessly fitting into my violin case for convenient portability during travels. Overall, this tuning accessory has significantly enhanced my practice sessions and performances, making it an indispensable tool for any violinist, whether beginner or seasoned.

Bad tuner
Purchased and within a month the tuner doesnt seem to turn off properly so stays on and kills the battery. Not the greatest tuner. Money wasted and will have to look for a better one. Very disappointed.

Facile d’utilisation
Fonctionne bien , facile, mais trouver le bon endroit pour le fixer sur le violon n’est pas évident pour qu’il tienne bien.

not a good option
It has a groove on one side to fit the peg, but it slips off the peg on the other side. I tried to drill a hole to fix this, now it won't turn on. dicky little battery screw is a pain.
