Biokleen Bac-Out Bathroom Cleaner - 32 Ounce -Eco-Friendly, Non-Toxic, Plant-Based, No Artificial Fragrance, Colors or Preservatives

I use this exclusively for cleaning/deodorizing the cats’ litterboxes, and it is AMAZING — completely neutralizes urine and poo smells from my plastic boxes. After emptying the box and scraping out any major remaining... crusties, I saturate the surface of the box and let it sit for a couple of minutes and then wipe away the residue. After the box is “clean” and dry, I spray down the whole inside again (really soak it) and let it sit for a full 10 minutes for the maximum enzyme action like the bottle says, and then wipe up anything that hasn’t evaporated. (For extra odor-fighting, I also shake out a thin layer of baking soda on the bottom of the clean, dry box before refilling it with fresh litter — Swheat Scoop Multi-Cat, for the record.) This stuff works wonders, and I’ve been using it for this purpose for 10+ years. The scent is not subtle, but it’s just a strong, genuine lavender lime/citrus scent, not a bitter chemical smell. Honestly, when the cats get a whiff, they come running because they know there’s a fresh litterbox ready to be christened. Happy cleaning!

This is the greatest bathroom cleaner I have used in years. It is a little expensive but I only use in the bathroom so it lasts a long time. The smell is not perfumed. I think the smell is pleasant. It says clean. I will buy again.

I'm so excited to find this product on Amazon. It works better than any commercial chemical or bleach-based cleaner. I don't understand why so often people don't choose natural cleaners. Perhaps they are thinking they will get less performance? However, many plant-based cleaners - like this one - actually work better, smell better, and lack the harsh fumes and residues of traditional cleaners. This product has a great scent. I want to note that while I usually also love Seventh Generation products, the SG enzyme-based bacteria-fighting cleaner has a rank odor which my husband and kids complain about, and I don't like it either. But, Biokleen Bac Out has a light fragrance that smells exactly like lavender and lime, in a very pleasant way. BTW, I have also tried the Biokleen powdered laundry detergent and, like this bathroom cleaner, it triumphs over its traditional counterparts, and the box lasted so long that it was even a good economic value. UPDATE Oct. 26, 2012: I have three bathrooms and have not yet gone through my 6 pk of this cleaner after over a year, because it works so powerfully and efficiently. This makes it an especially economical product! It dissolves EVERYTHING - sticky/grimy/gungy/stinky/moldy/scummy/smudgy - gone. And, no toxic chemical residues or artifical fragrance allergens. If you still use traditional bleach/chemical cleaners (such as Lysol or Clorox), you will wish you had switched a long time ago.

I have been buying this for a long time. I use this around people who have asthma and sensitivity to fragrances but this has not ever triggered them. It has a light, natural smell that does not smell chemical in any way. I use this to clean the whole bathroom and also works well to spot clean the carpet. I trust this cleaner. I don’t have the scientific equipment to see how well it kills germs but it does make the bathroom look and smell very clean, and also makes me feel nice that it is much better for the environment than bleach or other chemicals.

I'm a clean freak but I've been becoming more aware of which chemicals I'm constantly spraying around my home. I've been trying numerous eco-friendly brands but more often than not they smell like pee, literally. I gave BioKleen a shot based on the reviews and I'm so pleased. The lavender scent is amazing, not at all overpowering, industrial, or sickeningly sweet. Most importantly though it does a phenomenal job at cleaning just about everything in my bathroom. I have an old 1930's tub with a very delicate finish so I can't use abrasive cleaners meaning soap scum builds up pretty rapidly. BioKleen completely eliminated all dirt and scum and as an added bonus made my bathroom smell like a freaking meadow! I couldn't be more pleased. It really does such a tremendous job and at 32 oz this is a great price. I highly recommend you switch from whatever product you're using. I'm branching out and stocking up on all sorts of other BioKleen products right away.

After a bout of family illness, I had a bathroom mess to clean up that...defied all messes I'd previously encountered. The nastiest things you can imagine were dried in places that are notoriously difficult to clean. It was a nightmare, and I was skeptical - after years of using bleach with less than stellar results - that something "less powerful" like an organic cleaner would do the job. After spraying on Bac Out liberally and waiting 15 minutes, I was blown away. That horrible mess literally wiped off with ease. I cleaned the whole bathroom in two minutes, and the fresh smell lingered for a week. I am still shocked with how well this product works! As an ex-lifeguard, I can tell you that when...organic messes...are left in the pool, professionals resort to enzymes to eradicate them. This product works in the same way. This is the only bathroom cleaner I'll ever use!

I prefer to use green products as much as possible. I am an aroma therapy geek and frequently lean toward Caldrea....but the product line does not include bathroom cleaning products that remove soap scum and I wasn't impressed with Methods option for bathroom scum cleaning. First - the scent is amazing! Second - this product works on mild to moderate soap scum. I have not tried it on heavy soap scum yet but if I do I will add to my review. What really impressed me was when I sprayed my clear glass door that had streaking water build up. I let it sit for a few minutes and used the squeegee ... boom cleaned it! On light or mild areas I sprayed, let it sit for at least five minutes and rinsed without even wiping = took the mild soap scum right off!

Not the same formula as I've trusted for years! I've been a loyal buyer of Bac-Out Bathroom Cleaner, ordering it online because my local stores don't stock it. I don't remember how I first happened to try it, but it's been the best bathroom cleaner EVER, mainly because it has no harsh fumes. Well, guess what. Not only is the bottle different (see photo), but the BioKleen company's address is no longer in Vancouver, WA -- instead it's distributed by BioKleen from an address in IL. I read the list of ingredients and it is different from the previous, of which I still have a partial bottle left. I just tried spraying my bathroom sink with the new formula, and . . . harsh fumes! Blech! Now I'm stick with 18 bottles of the new stuff because I accidentally ordered 3 of the 6-pack instead of 3 bottles. Not worth sending it back, I'll have to donate some. I'm extremely disappointed. Why do companies do this? They develop a product that works great, and then they change it!
