Great wood
I’ve made several pens with this wood and it’s easy to work with. The finished product looks amazing too!

Spalted Tamarin Blanks
Good blanks, but one split on the end and was not useable.

Beautifully spalted.
I've used this wood in 2 knives thus far an I'm very happy with the quality and ease of working. The prices come with a rough finish but they were all spalted with beautiful patterns and I was very pleased with there I n dividual looks. I will definitely be ordering again in the future. The patterns can be a little hard to see on some peices before getting the surface a little cleaned up,but it's pronounced once polished

Good wood, better seller policy.
I bought: Tamarind, Spalted 3/4" x 3/4" x 5" Pen Blank 5-piece The spalted patterns vary quite a bit, as should be expected from a natural product - nature is of course variable. What struck me as making this purchase worthwhile is the willingness of the seller (SK Woodturning) to work with me regarding replacements. The pack I received had two pieces which I personally found to exhibit patterns which were too minimal. My use for them is educational so I needed extra vivid stuff to be... let's say "impressive" and "wowing." Such things are subject to opinion - yet, with a reasonable conversation with the seller, these have been replaced with better pieces. Very satisfied.

Thinking 3 starts
3 with great patterns, 2 that are extremely plain.

Very little spalting,,returned
Got five pieces, only one was slightly usable, hardly spalted at all, mostly just stained looking, very few disticnt lines. Returned.

Low price, but low quality.
For the price this is not bad material. However it is very very soft and I had I hard time making use of it. It constantly splintered and gouge out also having many mite holes. The only way I can see this being viable is if you hardened it first with epoxy or such.
