Great HDD, and excellent service
Very solid HDD. It is heavy for travel consideration, but it'll carry on. Full 21.8TB after I reformatted for NTFS. Very happy with the purchase and it was worth the extra cost. I will probably expand a bit in future considering my RAW storage needs.Secondly the seller went above and beyond. I needed this HDD for an upcoming trip. And they made sure to get it to me in time. Love these drives. They look great and very reliable. If you are looking for a quiet or cool drive, then look elsewhere. These drives run hot and are fast, which makes them perfect for video production. They are also stackable.Yes they are quite noisy, but if you’re simply looking for a solid, fast and reliable hard drive and don’t care about noise or heat, this drive is perfect for you.

THIS DRIVE DOES NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS 10
I bought this drive as back up for my PC (running win 10). I've scoured thr internet, youtube, and the product website for help with the fact that it does not recognize the drive, ever, no matter what, etc. The only info I found came directly from the Glyph website, and it said the following: We have been able to reproduce a Glyph Manager failure to change drive modes with Windows 7 64-bit edition. We have established that Glyph Manager works properly in 32-bit Windows.While there is, at present, a driver issue with Glyph Manager when using Firewire on a 64-bit operating system, there is a workaround. Connect the Glyph RAID to your Windows computer using USB in order to change the drive mode. Once the drive mode has been changed, theGlyph RAID can then be connected via Firewire for formatting and data storage. The driver issue above only disaffects the use of Glyph Manager with a Firewire connection but not the use of the drive for any other purpose.Right.Don't buy this drive; you'll regret it.

The Glyph BlackBox Pro External Hard Drive 7200 RPM, USB-C (3.1,Gen2) (20TB) is very fast at writing video files from a SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD drive. I do Astrophotography and I have almost 4 TB's of Solar videos I need to transfer from my SanDisk Extreme Pro 4TB SSD Drive to the Glyph. As shown in the video the average write speed is around 255-260 MB's a second. In the "About this Item" area on Amazon's webpage for this device it says: "Up to 250 MB/s Transfer Speed". This is a USB 3.0 connection and I haven't tested it yet on a USB 3.1SS connection but I'm sure it will be faster than this. Anyway, I just wanted to leave this review because I was very impressed with the write speed of the Glyph BlackBox Pro External Hard Drive 7200 RPM, USB-C (3.1,Gen2) (20TB).
