Does The Job
When you need an air space between the bottom of a wood post and concrete, or you need to install a wood post on top of a CMU wall, this product most soitenly does the job. Secure this product to the bottom of the wood post with 4 - 10d nails so that it doesn't twist around on you during installation. This is a much, much better application as opposed to installing a CBS at the top of a concrete or CMU wall. I've even seen Billy Butt-Cracks embed a wood post into concrete & CMU which is definitely a no-no, so this product definitely does what it supposed to do...provide a 1" separation between concrete/CMU and wood. Nice value and arrived on time.
Easy install, guide holes in the bottom make it difficult to mess up. Used these as bases on some four by four posts on my porch. I suspect that the wood will dry rot before I have to worry about these.
