Superior quality.
Steel is hard, keeps an edge for a long time. Needs to be oiled so it won't rust. Sharp blade makes work easier. This is a high quality bypass shear, that will last a lifetime with proper care. I would recommend this product to my friends and family. Solid cast handle not covered by plastic which deteriorates from sunlight and lubricant. Spring can be replaced.

Nice Japanese Tobisho Type A pruning shear
I expect these to last 30 years with proper use, care and cleaning. The 2 piece design is well balanced in my hand and the blade has formidable sharpness. I think up to 3/4" cuts are about the limit. The price is steep ($99) however I convinced myself that it pays for itself over decades of future use. I would recommend.

Great Tool
You can't go wrong with Japanese tools. I had one I bought several years ago which fell out of the holster and I couldn't find it. I panicked because I used it almost every day. Luckily, I did find it after I ordered this pruner. I also have a smaller Tobisho which I've had for over 30 years. It still cuts beautifully and has never been sharpened. These tools are expensive, but the fact that they last for years makes them worth the price.

Extremely Sharp, clean cuts, and style.
Very clean cut even on dead wood. Fits in extra large hand. Similar to other Japanese pruners but love the look of the polished blade. Only downside is that there are no rubber bumpers to help with repetitive cutting fatigue.
