Surround Sound for Home Computer and For Big Screen TV! one cable
I found the cable to look and feel very well made. the cable worked just like i hope it would, the purpose has been served On my DeskTop Home Computer I has Sourround Sound Speakers which belonged to a Big Screen TV. (coby brand) and they sound awesome! So with this cable I connected the speakers 3.5mm cable male end into this cables female end, then one of this cables male end into the back of my computer tower, and the other 3.5mm male end I connect to my Galaxy note 4 headphone input to when I stream movie from my note4 to my big screen TV via Chromecast 2nd generation I have great surround sound! and I dont need to turn on my computer, speakers have their own power button.

You MUST use isolators with this cable! Then it's GREAT!
Please note, this cable by itself is NOT meant to merge two audio outputs! You will get noise and poor levels at best and at worst you'll damage an output. If you use isolators on both outputs, like this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071W1K85Z/ it will work great! I am listening to this as I type this. I have one isolator on the mac, and another on the linux box, then THIS cable merging them into the amp. Sounds great! I can listen to sound from both and set the levels using the volume controls on each. You MUST use isolators to merge two audio outputs. Otherwise you're sending the outputs into each other and you'll get very different levels, noise, and you could damage an output. If you need to merge more outputs, use a mixer. But, for just two, this cable and two isolators is a good cheap simple alternative to a mixer. Does the job, but not well
I needed to be able to hook my speakers ( Logitech Speaker System Z313 ) to the bluetooth receiver that came with them and to my desktop PC at the same time. This does the job, but it drastically reduces sound quality, especially when using the bluetooth device (even though my computer is turned off). I've settled on unplugging it from the device I am not using, but leaving the designated jack right next to to the designated port, so that it is at least easier to switch back and forth than before. When it's only plugged into one device, it doesn't seem to reduce the sound quality.. but that defeats the whole purpose of the product. Also, there is a lot of resistance when plugging a jack into the female jack of this product. At first I thought it was messed up. Just needed to push quite a bit harder than with a standard female jack.

**TECHNICAL SPECIFIC REVIEW**
Okay so I purchased this to run my computer and Xbox 360 audio into once set of speakers. I also had a left/right audio adapter into 3.5mm jack from the console to one of the connectors on this adapter. So to get more specific, each unit had to have running power in order for this adapter to work without issues. As soon as one machine is powered down you lose a vast majority of sound output, some people have complained about this without giving resolution. To fix this simply unplug the non-powered connector and sound returns to normal, this works also for an extension cable. With both machines powered the audio can be controlled via each system and adjust the difference in volume between the systems. Hope this helps some before purchasing or even those who already did but not sure how to use.

ayy lmao
I've been getting constant emails about reviewing this item, so here's my review. Don't buy this item. The male parts constantly unplugs themselves with the slightest bit of pressure, and when they manage to stay plugged in, there's constant static and your headphones will constantly shift from playing both ears to just one side and back with the slightest bit of movement. I should have paid more attention to the other reviews on here, so it's partially my fault. It does what it's supposed to do, but with very noticeable quality issues and shoddy workmanship. Edit: After two months of use, this product no longer works, at all. Do not buy this.

Yep, this cable handles two computers hooked to ONE speaker system
Saved me a ton of time shopping. The real cost of a thing is the hassle of setting it up or maintaining it. In this case, I have two Dell 780 machines on top of each other, and I wanted to 'share' the audio, monitors, and printers without learning how to create a network. NO MORE GIZMOS is my latest motto. Windows already eats my life in any flavor. So it took two minutes to plug my Dell stereo system line-out jack into the female end of this thingy, then plug the two males into each of the female line out jacks on the computers, and voila! Actually, both computers can be on at the same time, too. But I don't plan to use them that way. So Bob Russell's review here, was spot on. Now I can save space, hassle and time, by doing the same thing with my other computer stereo systems. As you probably know, the woofers take up a lot of space, as well as that Dell 'sound bar'. Best of all, since you can chain these cables, you can snake them wherever needed. I don't know what's the limit on how many can be hooked up, but I'm gonna find out. Just remember: the female end takes the line out cable from your stereo, and you plug the two males (or more) into the line-out jacks on your machines. Sweet.

The cable is super long for what I needed
This cable works wonders. I use it to route my two game consoles onto a single pair of headphones. This lets me swap back and forth on my monitor while maintaining the same headphones and not having to swap the cords in the back all the time. The cable is super long for what I needed, but it is great regardless, and the excess could be nice for some people, so it's not really a complaint at all. If I ever need anything similar again, I will most for sure purchase this stereo y splitter over any others, especially at the price.

This sturdy little cable worked like a charm to send signal ...
I used this cable to plug my phone into an old CD/tape stereo unit that is probably 20 years old. The unit had 2 ins and when I plugged in just a mini jack cable only one speaker had sound. This sturdy little cable worked like a charm to send signal thru both inputs and got me non stereo sound to come out of both speakers. worth the money to get tunes in my garage considering that the stereo was free.

Take your money elsewhere
This cable causes a ton of static, itโs unbareable and unusable.
