Can you hear the music?
I wanted to have hearing protection but also listen to music. After reading reviews, I can assure that you can hear music over any machinery. While some disagree, I run a 3 axis CNC, sounded by other loud heavy machinery, fork truck horns and if you have the aware volume down it's loud enough to listen to music. Aware on the this works by a small mic on the side that takes the surrounded sounds of the environment into the headset speakers. By increasing our decreasing the set of volumes, you can hear your surroundings. The green isotunes earmuffs with aware is my new fav. head set!

ISO LINK Earmuffs with aware
Afrer using this product for only 10 minutes while mowing I ditched them for my standard hearing protection. Mower seamed loud and bluetooth was unusable. Like others said, volume is restricted. This is also the case with other brands. After setting up a return I decided to give them a second chance. I use a chainsaw frequently and do some wood work. This is what I believe they are purposed for and they shi e here. I went from hating them and setting up a return to giving 5 stars! The volume will not completly overpower the chainsaw but that would be asking alot. I find them to be comfortable. I have used them all day without needing a charge and the Bluetooth connection is great, I have not lost a connection. I prefer these over 3M, which is probably the only close competitor for what its intended purpose is.

Pleased with the purchase.
Works well, clear audio, good battery life, kind of expensive!

Work well when charged and available but very uncomfortable, no shutoff when charging!
The noise reduction is unmatched. I'll give them credit for that. But these hurt my ears and head. Maybe my head is too large, though I don't have trouble buying hats. The headphones come with a cheap foam two piece insert to separate the bar from the top of your head. It fell apart at the glue joint right away and never helped much when it wasn't separated into two parts. I mitigate the head rubbing with a cotton wash cloth. This certainly doesn't improve your appearance, so remove the wash cloth before you go out of the shop. The next problem that is that it only shuts off when you press the button and shut it off. What I mean is that most headphones auto-shutoff when not used after some period of time. This unit just keeps going until the battery dies. When you plug it in to charge it and have left it on, it STAYS ON and remains on after you unplug it. So most often it isn't available when I need it until I charge it again. All that said, I wouldn't run my very loud machines in the wood shop without it. That frequently means a production delay. I could solve that by having two pairs, but at $150 I'm. I like them, they work well but for goodness sake a simple firmware update would make this a first class safety device. I consider this a fatal flaw.

Bad Microphone and Bad passthrough audio
They work great for hearing protection but as far as being AWARE of your surroundings I found that the mics that pick up the pass through audio are terrible. I had the aware volume maxed and could not hear the person next to me speaking but I could hear all the background noise. Considering returning and going with something else

Not the most comfortable hearing protection I have ever worn. Buetooth is connection is terrible.
For all the great reviews this hearing protection gets, I found them to be the most uncomfortable hearing protection I own. They seem to create a pressure or suction under the ear cups (sealed too well) and quickly give me a headache. For singular loud noises … nail guns, hammering, shooting … they seem to cut the nose well, but for lower level constant noise … mowing, CNC in the shop … no so much, and my Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones work better. More recently (it is almost Christmas, so a lot of shop time), I have found the Bluetooth connection is terrible, with a lot of momentary signal drops. And, this has been tested across five sending devices (iPhone, 2 generations of iPad Pros, and 2 windows PCs) and compared to four other receiving devices that do not suffer the same drops (new Bose NC headphones, old Bose NC headphones, a budget Bluetooth speaker (W-King D9), and Power Beats ear buds). I would not purchase another pair and would not recommend these devices to friends or new acquaintances.

Battery lifespan short.
I love everything about these headphone. I use them for my woodshop and shooting range. However, the battery lifespan is short. The micro. USB connection failed and I must now buy a charging station and spare battery back to keep from chewing through 3 AAAs per week.

It’s been a week since I got my headset! I’m working at an international truck dealership in the repair department, and the noise is always there idling, revving, hammering and air tools. I bought these headphones to protect my hearing, and they’re a great way to do it. I already have the Milwaukee earbuds, but they’re not as easy to use. You have to squish them and put them in one by one, and I find my ear gets itchy after a while. The Isotunes, on the other hand, are over-ear headphones, so there’s no uncomfortable foam in my ears. I’ve been wearing them every day for a week, listening to techno, metal and rock. The music is loud enough, but not so loud that it becomes a safety hazard. Plus, the “aware” mode is fantastic. I can hear conversations, but if you really want to hear them, you just have to pause the music. It’s easy enough to hear if someone wants your attention, and you can talk and hear without taking off the headset. The comfort is a bit of a downside; they’re tight and can get uncomfortable after a while, but I’d rather not get tinnitus, so I keep them on. Overall, I’d definitely get the Isotunes again if I ever break or lose them.

I wear ear muff for most of the day when I'm at work, these are a game changer I don't have to keep taking them off to have a conversation, phone calls, listen to my audio books or radio. They are relatively comfortable, I made a alteration to them by purchasing some gell ear pad replacements shame they dont offer these as a standard replacement item much more comfortable.

I dont know of any other water resistant option that sounds great (and Im fussy) and allows you to dial in outside sounds for safety/awareness and when you need to hear what a machine is doing but remain protected. Never miss a call or message. And the order process was efficient and completely painless - just like it should be.

I like these a lot. They're a little snug, so I begin to feel them when I've had them on for a while... Especially when I'm wearing safety glasses with them. But, the sound quality is great, the noise cancelling is very effective, and the battery life is enough for what I need. Plus, they're not easily identifiable from a distance as headphones. Working somewhere that prefers muffs, these are great because I can jam out until someone walks up and then I can hear conversation when the noise cancelling kicks in.

EDIT - After 4 months use the charging port broke off. I don't know when it happened but one day it just wasn't there. What a waste, I can't recommend this thing now. At this point I will be going back to Worktunes. Original review below.... .......... have used the 3M Worktunes almost every day for the last 2 years. After my worktunes broke (headstrap came apart) I looked for a replacement and an upgrade, I bought this and I've used this for the past few months. This headset has pass-through audio which was a selling feature for me. Unfortunately I almost never use it because of a loud audible hiss even when the pass-through is on the lowest volume. There is a noise cancellation feature but to me this is a gimmick. The headset is already noise rated, so if the pass-through audio is active all it seems to do is turn the volume to zero. There is also an audible "click" every time it kicks in. When the pass-through audio is disabled the "noise cancellation" does nothing. If you are in a noisy environment and need to hear instructions from your coworkers then the pass-through works, but then you could just use a radio. The battery life is less than my worktunes was and it gives very little warning before it shuts off. This is the main reason for the -1 star. Volume is fine. Sound quality is fine. Sometimes you get a tone when answering a call or hanging up, but lots of times you don't.
